By the Twelve, and my sanity, please return the 'skip cutscenes' option

in MSQ roulettes. I get why it was removed, but dear Lord, doing MSQ Roulettes now is infuriating beyone belief. Besides, if new players really wants to watch any CSs, they can do so with the Unending Journey, just add all CSs to that instead or i will loose my mind!

I just treat it like Eureka and put on some youtube/ipad stuff and chill out and talk to people.

All the CS are actually in Unending journey. When I got to praet many months ago and heard that the CS weren't all there (but then heard/read other people say they were), I decided to put it to the test by skipping the cutscenes, having youtube version open, and then going to the Unending Journey.

They were all there,but it was annoying/confusing because:

1) Some of the CS are in Duty section, while most are in MSQ section, and it's not always clear when to go back and forth

2) Some of the CS that "aren't there" are actually there - but a person has to clear like the next 2 quests before they show up on the list! At first I thought they were missing (siding with the "they're not all there" people), and then later on I saw them there (thus making the "they are there people" also correct).Which means the only way to watch those cutscenes in order would be to keep skipping CS until the ones from Praet MSQ show up (but how is a new person supposed to know that they're missing/there if they don't know what's in them lol), then having to watch the CS from the post quests after that, but also making sure to time those to be at the end of a quest line or else those might have CS lists out of sync too.

So it's not so much that they need to add the CS, because they're already there, but they need to fix how inconvenient it is to actually watch them in order, and the inability to watch them before taking on the next set of quests and custscenes.

Don't do them then? No one is forcing you to do roulettes - it's an incentive to get high level players to actually do low level content to help out newbies, not an easy way for players get lots of tomes and gil, that's just a carrot. But because too many players were rushing out the gate just to get the carrot, SE has now employed the whip in response.

Also, it's pretty clear that "just view the cutscenes in the Unending Journey" is not acceptable in SE's eyes as they would never have made the cutscenes unskippable otherwise it they actually accepted that (to say nothing of the Unending Journey loses much of the scenes' context when you play them there).

I'm sorry, but I do not share your opinions, and in fact, I'm glad SE implemented it.

Yeah, we don't really have to do MSQ DR but the thing is, when we are doing our daily DR grind, and we want a bit more tomestones to buy that shiny new weapon/armor, we are almost always left with MSQ as the last one because of how useless it used to be until recently with the updates on giving it more tomestones for rewards for us higher level players.


If SE wanted the higher level/ end-game players to come back to run MSQ DR to help the new players than they should have given us the option to watch the cutscenes, and if we dont want to watch them then they should have made the boss arena's scatter in those two dungeons locked until everyone is present and are not watching cutscenes, problem solved.

Who cares about the level 70 tomestones you can get way more off Eureka though, If its Lore that people are farming for again 50 proto crystals gives you i335 already better then lore.

This change fixes nothing just don't queue maybe they will seriously think about a major buff to it , If you need the exp and want to be put zero effort in then be ready for a long run.

If they did the boss thing, people would just vote kick anyone watching the cutscenes. It's not about the cutscenes, it's that people want to finish the run as fast as possible and will do anything to make it faster.

Not that its any of your buisness, but Im doing them for XP along with other roulettes, so beeing forced to sit through 20 mins of CS is becoming REAL old real quick.

It's not happening anytime soon. Especially with the increased rewards.

You might want to socialize with your FC, linkshell, discord, or whatever means you have to pass the time dealing with the unskippable cutscenes.

It’s funny how everyone was so against this change before it happened and now suddenly it’s just dandy? I thought then and still think now that there was no need for this change. It’s really soul sucking having to sit through those cut scenes and people are only new to those instances once, then I seriously doubt they care to watch the scenes at each subsequent run. People shouldn’t have to find other things to do while they are running a dungeon because it’s 90% cutscenes, it’s ridiculous.

And no obviously no one is forced to run the roulette as the extra long dps queues attest, but sadly if you need poetics.....

Most people running the roulette are not on their first time. There are also (in sure) plenty of newbies who are not too bothered about the story and are with everyone else on wanting to get things done. They have turned msq roulette/unfortunately still the fastest way to get poetics into something awful to benefit a small minority who will quickly be joining everyone else in wanting to get their reward and go.

Before people who cared that much about the cut scenes could use party finder. Now people who want to get in and out can’t even skip the scenes in a pre formed group.

If new players want to watch the cs in the dungeon, they are in their right to do it. Also, that convo with Gaius is very interesting.
