WAR's SiO, PLD's DV, and DRK TBN; what are they used for

We all know what they are suppose to do by reading the tooltip, we all know that these abilities have major flaws, but I'm curious as to what people use these abilities for compared to how situational some of the effects that they have, since most people don't tank swap unless a boss mechanic calls for it...

I generally forget about Divine Veil since Barrier effect doesn't seem to apply to PLD who cast it, SiO effect to make it stronger makes it not worth using when either MT of OT, and TBN is almost ALWAYS used when MT...

I've only played PLD so I can only speak of Divine Veil. When I use it or for that matter see it used, it tends to be put up before a big, raid wide attack like an ultimate skill to reduce the damage done. It doesn't work on the PLD themself, but they are a tank so it doesn't even matter.

DV and SiO are both used for heavy raid wide damage.

TBN is used for tankbusters on either yourself or the current MT, or mechanics such as prey that will target a DPS and hit them hard.

As for DRK, TBN can also be used in your opener on yourself or on the current MT to help get your Derilium up and ready as well.

    Well in savage mode:

O5S- Useful for the acid/impact aoe combo

O6S- Useful for stack circle (not the one pld takes alone with Hallowed) and the demonic howl during the Siren.

O7S- Useful for lots of the AoE's, ultros ink, the plasma aoe he casts throughout the fight and spams during Biblio.

O8S- We use SiO for Forsaken, Veil for Light of Judgment.

SiO and Veil are mainly used before heavy raid-wide damage like howls or plasmas. We also use SiO for Forsaken on O8S, and Veil is kept for the skull phase so the DPS have a bit more leeway to take the skulls.

TBN is used all the time, to mitigate a tankbuster, an AoE, even auto-attacks, any time it can make the healer's job easier.
Also TBN is used prepull on the MT to have the 50 blood required for the opener.

    O5s: Aoe markers/Acid Rain/Head On negation
O6s: I use it at around the first pink, then it's up in time for Lullaby, and basically on CD after.
O7s: I usually forget it here but it's helpful for Airforce Adds or Biblio Add
O8s: I use it mitigate Light Of Judgment, second Forsaken, and Third Forsakens.

Divine Veil not affecting you doesn't matter, you won't die from AoE damage 90% of the time. It's to keep the 6 weaker party members alive.

SiO my Cotank uses at other times aside from Head On cheese, but I suppose optimally it should be stacked to build LB, but meh.

I tend to throw up a Divine Veil during or after a lot of raidwide damage, particularly if everyone's grouped up, since I know the veil's gaurenteed to get procced during all the AoE heals. Makes for a nice buffer for the healers to smooth incoming damage and get everyone topped up again.
