Known issue clarification please and thank you

I would love some clarification on this as my FC house and personal house both make use of clipping and floating items extensively.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to say that if having multiple aquariums in one house makes it so that players can no longer clip furnishings together, I would rather that we keep to the "one aquarium per house" rule. It's too much trouble for its worth.

Well, there goes my idea for clipping items though multiple fish tanks...

I'm crossing my fingers that it means nothing needs to be clipping in fish tanks whenever they fix it. But if it means they finally fix clipping issues...

This is going to cause a huge backlash against SE. I haven't glitched anything, but I've clipped partitions to make rooms and have put some items inside others to make an indoor fountain. Having to tear my house apart to avoid everything getting deleted is a load of BS. All they're going to do is tick people off. Just to fix an aquarium problem.

There really is need for clarification on this, yes. If indeed it is all overlapping/clipping furnishing that is in danger of being deleted - then that is completely unacceptable, and the "fix" should never happen.
If it is just a problem with multiple aquariums overlapping, then that is no big deal.


I suspect most decently decorated houses make use of overlapping/clipping furnishing to some extent - some to a very large extent. If all those furnishings were to be deleted .... that is too horrible to contemplate.

If this was going to impact all items regardless of whether or not an aquarium is present, there would have been no need to mention aquariums specifically. It would have been a much stronger warning to players stressing that all housing items are at risk and that we need to prepare to start moving/removing all furnishings to prevent possible deletion when the fix is implemented.

Far more likely the issue is specific to the aquarium, that the intended fix is going to change the aquarium in some manner that makes it incompatible with clipping/overlapping and having items in contact with it beyond it simply resting on a flat surface as the fix is implemented could lead to unintended consequences (like the items getting strangely fused so they can't be moved/removed/etc throwing out errors all over the place).

Personally, I'm not worried about other items in my housing unless they post some sort of revised warning that doesn't make mention of specific items, aquariums or otherwise. I'm storing my aquariums until such time as the fix is implemented and confirmed to be working as intended. Once that happens, I'll unpack my aquariums and have some fun.

The fact that no one official has chimed in on this yet is crazy...

Clipping and glitching items in your house to get results with the extremely limited customization options you have for housing is fairly normal and a ton of people are going to be effected if this is the case, and to take everything apart for this is going to be ridiculous...

To be fair, it's the weekend and they don't usually comment on anything over the weekend. If we are going to get a response, it'll be at some point over the work week.

While they don't say a date on the patch notes and I'm not trying to create facts, the way it's written strongly implies that the fix will becoming after the patch, or else they wouldn't need to caution people not to clip/glitch aquariums, because it would already be fixed and they wouldn't be able to.

I mean, the thread was started before the workday would have started on Friday, so it's not like this wasn't up during the work week last week. I had hoped that if we didn't get a clarification here that someone would edit the patch notes to make those more clear. Kind of disappointed.
