Not really needed with savage gear.
And if I wasn't discouraged enough now they also made it look so ugly ... so for sure I won't be doing it.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Next scenario? Which scenario are they talking about?

mix feelings Glad i dont have to grind so many armors ,but i was hoping for some cool relic armor changes like i find abyss set pretty boring i guess it cant compete with Chaos set

People enjoying content of Eureka, that's funny. It's still a good thing they are focusing on improving the content instead of continuing to lure people to endure boredom for rewards. I wonder what they have planned.https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...de_for_eureka/
So there really aren't any armor upgrades from here?
Yoshi: We see that it is not yet the time. Our purpose of armour upgrades in Eureka was to deliver a higher iLv AF3 gear, and allow it to be dyeable. We believe we've fulfilled this goal. Also more than we anticipated, players have enjoyed the content of Eureka itself than the rewards of item upgrades, so we have decided to allocate more resources to making the content better than the rewards itself.

Initially, I suspect they may bring it back next Eureka, and didn't want to encroach of Ridorana. That doesn't seem to be the case in their follow up response. And why introduce relic gear sets and then put them out again? They really need to change the rate for the new land otherwise people will be finished even faster with that without gear sets.
Edit: It seems we got a reason:

I mean...I really have no words...how many people truly just enjoyed Eureka for Eureka alone and did not do it for rewards? How would they even know that, I mean there is no survey about it and the Japanese thread was quite negative about it too..(And if people already enjoyed that Eureka so much why would they need to make it better?)
They have to be looking at purely participation numbers and assuming people enjoyed the content in lieu of simply being their for dyeable relic armor. Apparently, the translation wasn't great, and Yoshida said they want to focus on Eureka itself instead of simply rewards. Either way, I cannot help worry they're assuming far too much, especially as the next relic step will have to be significantly more irksome otherwise we'll be done in a week, tops.
The cutscenes thing makes me curious, not because its somehow new, but because he felt the need to mention it here, but not the other times its happened recently. What's so special about this specific instance of cutscenes that he felt the need to mention that here? I guess we'll see?
As for gear, I hate the greed only, but only for glamour reasons. With mendacity and upgrade items, 370 won't be hard to get. I'm just mad that this seems to be affecting ALL alliance raids. So, from now on, if you want a glamour piece, get ready to lose to 7 other people until you want to die, if it even drops at all. Thanks guys, real great decision. >_<
No relic armor upgrade for now doesnt mean they cant add them on another patch.

well i feel conflicted about this news, they really think we enjoy eureka? seriously? if that was the case FF11 will have far more player than FF14.... strangely no? why? because this sort of content is bad in too many way...
worst is a freaking slap in the face of the player of the V1 that have said countless time, please don't bring the monster party back... and what we did get? monster party....
worst how we do eureka is not different of ATMA phase! we are farming FATE!
and here come the ironic part... when pagos will come, many will stop to do anemos, meaning it will be harder for new player that come later to do this relic and.... later on, when the third area will be bring it will be even harder to do anemos and pagos...
it's like bring back the area with elite... it was the same trouble in FF11 when a new content was coming out, it was pain to find any player for do some area filled with elite... they don't learn anything....
ps: by the way, you was wanting a way to avoid to kill the raid? make the raid i360... it's 1 part per week... it will not compete but complement tomes and for the new relic armor of pagos only a i355.... problem solved...
Don't worry, I'm sure they will implement things where you still have to do the first zone even when they release more zones. I will be really surprised if they don't. I mean even if they just randomly added Pazuzu feathers to later relic steps, boom, all of a sudden people are still in Anemos and almost requires 0 work from them. If it becomes a big problem they'll just nerf the exp curve which just requires them to tinker with numbers.
Just like the new 24 man upgrade items probably requires a coin from Rabanastre in addition to the new coin from Ridorana. And when they release the 3rd 24man 2 patches from now you'll need a coin from all 3, etc.
At this point, they're pros when it comes to this kind of thing.
