Page down in inventory with gamepad

I have found that when I browse my inventory with my gamepad I can hit left or right on my D-pad to page up/down.

However, once you get to the bottom of the list, about the last quarter of the list. The page down function will stop working and jump to the end of the list of inventory. This makes the bottom of the inventory list inaccessible by the page down function.

This forces the player to use the keyboard ( which works find with pagedown) or use the up down arrows to get to the last quarter of inventory.

Could this get fixed, or is anybody else experiencing this with their gamepad?

Left and right on gamepad is not page up/down. It cycles to the next item "type." To cycle page up/down, hold the button you use to open inventory (triangle for me) then press up/down on gamepad.

Nice, I also used left and right, I just got my ps3 controller to work and this is extremely useful thank you sir

Vexerus is correct, it is completely based on type if you don't use the extra button hold:
- Weapons/Tools
- Ammo/Bait
- Gear
- Materia
- Other (materials, parts)

I actualy find that mechanism very useful to skipping to what I need then paging down from there.

Hmmm... I'll have to take a look at this when I get home, maybe I am using a custom setup and not realizing it. This may be the cause of my issue with page up/down.

I'll be back with the results.

Even if I am using a custom config on gamepad I shouldn't be encountering this issue though.

My inventory happened to be spaced out in the format of Page Down and Page Up as well. But when reaching the materials, would skip all the way around to the top.

It *may* be hard coded into the gamepad option UNLESS you're using an external gamepad mapping program like Pinnacle Profiler or a Logitech program.

I am using MotioninJoy drivers to use my PS3 controller because Sony does not support 64bit drivers. :P

I also set my options to default settings because I did have a custom setup on button configuration on my gamepad.
However despite setting it to default I still page up/down with the D-pad left/right. L1/R1 change the category tabs and L2/R2 control the macro palettes!

So I still have the issue with page up/down not paging evenly down the entire list. In my opinion it should page down, but not go so far that it skips items!

I'm finding it annoying to look through my inventory because I can look for something and totally miss it because it was not viewable and was skipped over when paging up/down.

This set up lets you hold R2 and press L2 to to Alt+Tab windows. Very nice for dualboxing.

PS button is bound to * key which is also my push-to-talk for Ventrillo.

For me (default button configuration according to Lodestone) holding the button for mainmenu (on a PlayStation controller it'd be the square-button) while pressing up/down on the D-Pad offers me a pageup/-down function.
