I wouldn't mind at all if they would release gender- and race-locked styles to everyone if they're just going to cut us back to one or two styles per patch like they've been doing lately, especially since most of the time we're given a slight edit of a non-locked style we already have anyway. The hairstyles that show ears would only need to be altered for miqo-te, and for most of them you'd only need a lock of hair to cover the ear area. Au ra horns attach to the heads where the ears would normally be, so the biggest worry there should be clipping. And if they're not going to add anything new to the game, there are a lot of styles available to hyur, elezen and roe, or that are only available to males, that I'd love to use on Mal.


Not to mention that most of the threads and comments I see around here on this and the hempen set seem to indicate that the majority of the playerbase aren't nearly as concerned about gender/race uniqueness as the devs are.

There was a poster earlier who brought up a great point with adding sliders to hairstyles to increase/decrease length of all existing styles . Even if this were done it would increase options. More style options!

As much as I want to ride the witch hunt wave, so long as we keep "voting with our wallets" and the strong mentality of "the grass is always greener on the other side" this is what we'll keep on getting.

"HD" textures were already addressed on an interview and iirc Yoshi said no, and the reason we don't get more vanity stuff is likely that they still have the same amount of people, working on everything at the same time to yield the same results. He's already addressed multiple requests to fix what is broken from the past implementations as: "We'd rather focus on bringing better stuff in the future" as a way to "better use our resources". Just 'let sleeping dogs lie".

The more I think about it, we might only get one hairstyle this patch, looking back at 4.2. They actually did show both hairstyles. One on the patch site, the other in a trailer and later in a blog I think.
Kinda a shame.

I do think we need to go back to gender locking hair.
One for male and one for female. I'm kinda tired of all these tomboyish hairs for females and every blue moon get a feminine one to which now the male players don't like.

maybe there is other new hairstyle(s), but they are found in the lootboxes in High-on-Heaven or Pagos. Would they show those on the 4.3 website?

I’m really disappointed with this hairstyle. I love longer hairstyles on my main and my alt. The fact we keep getting short styles is frustrating. I am not one to care about clipping, since it’s an easy fix to just style my outfit around the hair. I’ve had friends show me pictures of what my main looks like with one of the modded long styles, and it makes me sad that we can’t have actual versions of it from SE. I want long feminine hair, SE. PLEASE.
