[Question] Housing glitches in 4.2?

Yo! Just out of curiosity, is it still possible to do the floating loft and the floating stairs (and other floating items in general) as of 4.2+? I've been trying to get it to work in my cottage, but I just can't seem to get it. I saw videos showing it (at least the loft), but for whatever reason it just doesn't work for me.

All glitches are still available as far as I know, I can confirm the loft definitely still works, although depending on the age of the video the method might have changed.

Thank you! It looks like people have been issues with putting a loft in the cottage basement (which is where I've been trying), so I'll give it a shot upstairs.

It only works above doors and windows (well, the baseboard might work but that's not a loft really anymore) so you won't be able to get it in the basement.

It will also go above the "invisible" door that would lead to private rooms if it was an FC house, it's a real pain to get it there though as you can't see what you're doing.

Also, if you're set on making a basement loft, you can achieve roughly the same effect by floating housing cushions. Although it's much more item intensive.

I was under the assumption this was no longer possible, so good to know that it is.

Just started trying out the cushions, and... they float! Struggling to get them to line up, but it's still a relief to see something that works. XD thanks for the tip.~

Floating glitch is definitely the most versatile, works with any wall mounted or tabletop item.
Fish tanks touching the ceiling, lamps 'attached' to pillars, pictures 'mounted' above fireplaces, etc.

If you're wanting to get a raised loft in the basement, you could also try using the Cask Racks and lining them up in a row. The problem with this being that you wouldn't have access to the area underneath it. Though I suppose you could also do that to help you line up all the cushions evenly, since you can place stuff on top of them.
