    Win10 1803 Update - Per App Audio Device Setting

    The FFXIV client seems to be ignoring the new per app audio device settings in Windows 10 update 1803.

    I have tried setting it to multiple other audio output devices and it always comes through on the system default device instead. This setting is working for all of the other software I have tried it with (discord / chrome / VLC / etc).

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Final Fantasy XIV is designed to use the default audio device, so it would make sense that it would ignore an app like this. If you want to change the audio device that the game uses, you will have to change the default audio device. additionally, the app is pretty new and the game was never designed with it in mind.

    FFXIV does not support chaning output after it has been started, it never does.
    You have to change it before starting game to take effect, it always and only can use the default output device.

    which is really sad for a 2017 game.
