LOL
And - from that logic - DPS who steals aggro from tank would be proud, not asking himselves if they're using Diversion/LD enough.
I'm right with you. I would 100% support either ACT being legal or an in house parser. But that will never happen unfortunately. A compromise might be the best solution for a legalized parser.Any kind of personal parser is a waste of time, not a compromise. Seeing only your own numbers in a vacuum is kind of pointless, especially if you're only seeing them after the instance is over. If we're to receive an official parser, it needs to be a proper real-time one that shows everyone present. SE needs to stop trying to spare the feelings of sandbags and develop a parser of their own or at least "legalize" existing ones like ACT (though having an in-house parser means consoles get in on the action too).

If raiders would leave without being able to parse, that right there tells me they aren't all that great of players to begin with. If you NEED a third party tool, then perhaps you need to get better at the game. A parser is a crutch used to counter their lack of skill.
I'm not taking a side, but can you elaborate on how a parser "counter their lack of skill"? It seems most people who use a parser are actually trying to improve their skill.

Wat?
Because I want to see how much DPS I do I need to get better at the game?
The boss will die regardless if that number is present or not. But when the number is present I can see exactly how much I do and I always aim to get it higher.
It's also a great tool for theorycrafters and trying out new rotations and checking how that influences your DPS.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
I love this argument. It so beautifully misses the point of parsing.

Interesting point. How do you suggest getting better at the game without a parser? Copying the combat log into Excel and adding up stuff? It's not like a gazillion of guides including good and optimal rotations would be available at all without act...

I do love people chiming in despite having next to no idea how something even works. A parse simply calculates the battle log live, displaying the results on an overlay. If someone were arsed, they could literally add together each number manually and get approximately the same result. Why would raiders want such a tool? For their enjoyment. A great many people use FFlogs as a self competitive game. If all that were removed together, I have literally no reason to look at Savage after a handful of clears. I mean, the gear is hilariously overpowered for everything else except Ultimate. So what reason have I to keep playing, especially if I don't intend to do Ultimate?
Said harassment can actually be worse. Enough people know mentioning ACT can get you banned nowadays, thus you get garbage players with a holier than thou attitude and essentially give them a loaded gun. Hence why you see so many groups disband or people leave without a word. And it irks me Yoshida's stance basically amounts to "carry people so they have fun too!" To which I say, no. If someone is putting in effort? Sure, I am more than happy to help. But if I'm doing weeklies, I'm going to be a little annoyed at the Samurai who dies to every other mechanic while I out-dps them monstrously. They may be having fun, but I'm certainly not, especially if their mistake gets me killed.

If I don't see this appear on FF14Forums.txt within the next week or so, I'll be really disappointed.

Rather than attack your character directly (which given your statement and profile would be hilariously easy) or go into a huge detailed post about how you're objectively wrong (because you are):
Let me ask this - what is your aversion to parsing? Why do you hate it so? In numerous threads/posts you consistently advocate against it and almost always from an irrational or ill-informed standpoint.
