Yes, it's called mogstation optional items.
Keep that lootbox nonsense out of this game,
The mogstation gives you plenty of microtransaction choices, and they add new items all the time. Lootboxes are not a popular idea, and personally, I don't want to see them in a game that I already pay monthly for. The app is taking the whole microtransaction thing far enough as is.

game doesn't need lootboxes. In fact, if it had them, the game would probably need to be seen and played by gambling regulators before being sold which would cost time and cash. Then the age rating would change from T to 21+ for real life gambling to keep anyone that cannot gamble out-costing SE subscribers and cash. It doesn't matter how they're obtained-via in-game cash or cash shop they would be seen as gambling with real life cash in some EU countries.
The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different glamour.
As for drop rates, we selected initial values based upon data from the eastern playerbase and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before the next expansion. Among other things, we're looking at average per-player purchases on a daily basis, and we'll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have glamours that are compelling, rewarding, and of course unobtainable via gameplay.
We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on our forums and across numerous social media outlets.
Our team will continue to make changes and monitor only the eastern community feedback and update everyone whenever we feel like it, with inaccurate translations a month after the content releases.
Lootboxes will ultimately end up with a player spending more money than they would normally spend to get one item, but also end up with every other item at the cost of likely 2x or more of the single, desired, item's cost.
If you mean in-game, there's Eureka. Literally drops lootboxes with materia, a mount possibility, barding possibility, some minions and some glamour. A possibility also for fireworks/Eureka potions, but every lootbox system includes meh items.
I mean, it also means doing Eureka.
Aren't loot boxes banned/illegal in Belgium (and maybe other countries) due to its gambling nature?
Star Wars Battlefront II had to remove the lootbox purchase thing from the game in Belgium. After many months EA added it back and now they are under heavy investigation.
Overwatch is also under investigation and other games with lootboxes are too.
Even Pokemon games had to remove the casino in their games even though it was only available with in game currency (which you cannot buy with real money).
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
