strange discoloration?

so... i decided to watch some videos on youtube while macro crafting, switched my game to windowed mode and it instantly "blue-ified" my entire computer: taskbars, video, textboxes, desktop, game, literally everything had this strangeness, but after going back into full screen i tried again and it worked fine. i am just curious if this is a common thing or did my computer just hiccup for some reason?

That is "normal". I've had the same issue before, regarding my contrast. My desktop and all looked like I turned down my screen's brightness to 0 and when I went back in and out again, it was all super bright and flashy.

There are games tempering with contrast, colour profiles and such, it's not common but it happens. If I just could remember one popular game that does it, too, and you can see your screen adjusting when Alt+Tabbing. Sometimes this "adjusting" fails or is skipped and you are stuck with it as long as the program runs.

That's not a normal thing. If it happened due to watching a video, you might be using a HDMI 1.0/1.1 cable and the screen decided to switch to a bandwidth-reduced color space mode to play the video. If you can repeat it consistantly, that's what I'd say it is, and you could probably make it stop with just a newer cable or tweaking the GPU settings to make sure it stays in RGB mode.
