Anyone else feeling that the delay for new content is taking you away from the game? I know there’s tonnes to do, but in 4 years of playing I have never felt this disinterested in content. Is it just me?

Oh. I thought you were asking for an emote.
But yeah. This happens to me sometimes.

I imagine it's not just you, but after 4 years of playing a game I imagine most people would get disinterested.
No, it's hard to get motivated for me too. They relied a bit too much on Eureka this time around; if you don't care for it there's not much to do.

I just made an alt on another server to go through the MSQ again for fun. So far I'm almost to Heavensward. If you aren't doing Eureka (I'm avoiding it like the plague) there's really nothing to do.

I’m levelling jobs, so surprised with MCH!!
I put it off for so long being afraid with would be a pain/boring. MCH is actually very fun a later levels, very nice “heated” animations and for a support class you can do pretty good dps...

I recall reading the same thing for 2.0 and 3.0. Everyone has their own feelings and perceptions. Personally I'm enjoying myself at the moment, although I wish there was a way to play this portable.

I mean, it's not that the content is delayed, it's more that the patches have been so spaced out that it feels like we run out of stuff to do much faster IMO. There has always been a lul between stuff, but it has felt especially vacant for me this go around. I went from getting burned out in capping during experts, to doing eureka, and I don't wanna do expert anymore.
Had both been released at the same time I feel like the variety would have made it easier for me.
I'm still having fun, but like where as I use to feel fine doing stuff right up to the new patch, I feel like I focus on one thing so much that I never wanna go back to it after the initial release because it's all I had to focus on for a month.
It's complicated.
It's not just you OP. I feel the same way.
I do shit with my FC and that's about it, otherwise i play other games until 4.3, then do MSQ and what.. wait 2-4 weeks for next small patch to get a little more content and wait another 2-4 weeks for next...
I don't like SE splitting up it in chunks. Give all at once, i'm a big boy!
Plenty of others are feeling this; it's a fairly well-established fact at this point.
It's a direct result of FFXIV's formulaic development path. The more predictable the content, the less interested people become. Almost every single component of Stormblood - the only notable exceptions that come to mind are Eureka, Ultimate content, and the MSQ - is a nearly identical, higher-level-cap version of content from Heavensward. Considering that Ultimate content only appeals to a very small subset of the player base, and that Eureka's release was marred by a number of significant, not-yet-resolved flaws, there is an obvious problem. Compounding the problem still further is that significant quantities of Heavensward's content - including the vast majority of its combat-related content - were themselves nearly identical, higher-level-cap versions of content from ARR.
For people who enjoy leveling multiple jobs, this might not yet be a problem. For people who play infrequently, it's not much of a problem. For people who really sink into their MMOs, though, it's becoming a larger issue with every stale content cycle.
Still, that said, 4.3 looks promising. If SE manages to fix some of the most egregious issues in Eureka (the severe imbalance pushing people toward FATE training; the lack of an Elemental Level Sync to allow people to play with their friends; the lack of Magia Board syncing for FATE participation), that content is going to offer a more appealing, fresh-ish experience for a larger percentage of the player base. If the new Deep Dungeon offers creative gameplay that isn't just a repainted Palace of the Dead, that's going to offer a fresh experience for players. The reconstruction of the Doman Enclave, if handled appropriately, could offer a deep, new experience for those more inclined toward DoH / DoL jobs. There's definitely a lot of potential here, but on the other hand...
...SE has been known to spectacularly botch content in the past. It's equally likely that Eureka Pagos won't resolve any of the issues plaguing Eureka Anemos, that Heaven-on-High is a poorly-balanced rehash of PotD, and that the Doman Enclave reconstruction is essentially just a trivial high-level alternative to Grand Company turn-ins. In this scenario, the 4.3 update would likely speed up the exodus of gamers who are craving something new, something fresh.
Only time will tell.
