Is anyone else worried that this downtime might have a negative impact on the game?

SE should get together a big patch and release it a bit after servers are back up to make up for their down time and potential loss of player base. I am not too worried about the servers being down because as stated in Letter from the Producer VI the long awaited company system will make it's appearance soon and if it is as great as SE is making it seem then that should bring some old players back to try it out at least.

As for you Deviant and others in Elite, don't feed the Troll. By Trolling back you're encouraging Yarr to Troll more. But hey if you really don't care then go ahead it's pretty entertaining to read while the servers are down.

sorry buddy that wont happen lmao dont fool yourself, and another thing the "company system" doesnt grab my interest very much at all i just keep waiting to hear when the battle/armory system's to be changed thats when this game will change for me.....and i wont be ashamed when ppl ask what i'm currently playing to say XIV, mark my words when they make a real battle/armory sytem change ppls eyes and opinions about this game will as well

I think when the servers are back up, there will be content to go along with it, but I also don't expect the servers to be up for another week and a half - two weeks. Japan is in a pretty bad state.

Yeah I believe Yoshi's post to be a little over enthusiastic. But I'm sure they are anxious to get back to work. I really think the people that have made it this far (with the exception of a few) will hang in there. I know people want more content and all these changes but we've waited this long. I would like to think most of us are patient enough to wait out the disaster and let Japan and it's people get back on their feet again. I plan on coming back and I'm playing Dragon Age 2. I know it's not Rift or any other MMO competitor, but I put a lot of time int XIV and 80 bucks on the CE, and I support SE. I'm not a fan-girl. I just believe in them and what they are capable of.

What I don't understand is that with everything that has happened. You guys for-see people complaining about the downtime!? Really? Are there people with no compassion for things that happened this past week? I'm not trying to dwell but there are more important things than someone losing out on 10 days of game play. And people that are expecting compensation for this are ridiculous. I'm ashamed to be human sometimes.

I don't think anyone's downplaying the tragedy by talking about stuff like this (though if people are asking for "compensation"...yeah, no). It's just that we're at the official FFXIV forum, so it's natural that we're going to talk about issues that may affect the game.

Oh I totally agree with you, it's just all the different boards I'm reading and all the stuff flying around regarding how the downtime is going to hurt SE and being compensated for it is what irks me. I'm not trying to offend or point fingers at anyone on here, just kinda venting I guess.

i agree this is the site where you are suppose to talk about the game thats what ppl are doing and if that hurts your gentle lil heart & feelings solara you could just not be on this site....
