I would like to tell you that BLM is the reason I'm still playing this game and I love the design, even more so now that we got a lot of movement skills during 60-70.
I tried other jobs and don't feel so natural like BLM. You get insane DPS when you can stand still and cast (and by insane I mean I've nearly never seen anyone not BLM doing more DPS than me, not counting raid contribution of course).

Before 60 yes it's quite hard to move without losing DPS, but at 70, you have
Triplecast: Let you freely move for ~7s every 60s
Swiftcast: Let you freely move for ~2s every 60s
These two alone let you move 1/6 of the time already.

Then you also have
Thunder proc: freely move for ~2s.
Fire3 proc: freely move for ~2s.
Fire3/Bliz3 change phase: freely move for ~1s enough to get out of most AoEs.
Aetherial Manipulation: freely move to your friend (I found that at least one will be out of AoE).

Regarding learning the fight: I find out that it's only required for EX Primals and Savage fights (which you do while learning the mechanics anyway so it doesn't feel like more problems than any other classes). For other dungeons, just improvising BLM kits is totally fine and you don't really need to absorb any AoEs either.

My advice is like the others. Get him to 70 and play for a while, if you like him you'll like him.
If not then maybe BLM is not the class for you and you can try some other classes. No every class is for everyone I guess (like how I can't get myself to love melee classes XD)

The issue isn't so much using Transpose, which might be part of it, but the lack of a clear buff indicator until you reach level 70. SE still hasn't fixed the Enochian indicator, I don't think? I'd have to double check, I'm 70 so I just watch the countdown.

This is true, however, if you read your tooltips you know it's bound to AF/UI. Don't lose that, and you won't lose Enochian. Not saying it shouldn't be fixed, but it's not a real issue. And they have continually said "losing your timers" which at pre-70 is only AF/UI.

You are correct, but with lag and time delays, there will be instances where you maintained AF/UI but lost Enochian. And until you reach level 70 the only indicators are the "muted" skills. But at level 70 you get the Foul timer, so when that disappears you know you need to recast it. Surprised they din't add the Enochian icon back in, since they added almost every other one back in after the player base asked.

No it does not suck in any shape or form. It is in fact, if played right, one of the strongest DPS jobs in the game. Is it immobile? yes, but that's part of the design. Even more so, the immobile part is only in regards to losing damage, it is highly mobile for dealing with movement mechanics. Jumping back to leylines / teleporting to other party members. And of course triple cast / swiftcast for casting on the move.

Sounds more like you don't enjoy playing this type of job and that's fine, not everyone will like every job. But the job does certainly not as you say suck.

Except that it seems that a LOT of people want BLM to either have more versatility, mobility, and/or a more interesting rotation. So I question who is in the 'wrong' here.
