Gunblade-wielding job teased in 4.3 trailer. Possibly a tank?

You can see in the image that this is very blatantly a job crystal, the symbol on it doesn't really seem to refer to anything I can think of though.


Additionally, toward the end of the trailer there's a short clip of someone sheathing a gunblade on their back, which unless DRK is getting a gunblade for whatever reason, is definitely new.

In my opinion, if the (likely) new job is indeed a gunblade user, then it's probably not a healer, and the fact that we've already seen two DPS jobs introduced this expansion means there's a solid chance this is a tank job.

I don't know, there's always the chance it can still be pulling double duty. It definitely *looks* like a job crystal, and the gunblade teaser at the end is possibly maybe something, so who knows? inb4 it's just an NPC animation and the cutaway was utterly pointless to put any focus on it in the trailer.

More raining on parades: The japanese and french community have reported that it sounds like Thancreds voice actor saying oh dear (or "is this some kind of joke" in Japanese). Listening again, it could possibly be Thancred (The voice, not the NPC).

After looking it up a little bit, it seems like that's the stone Algus used to transform at the end of the Rabanastre dungeon. They most likely took it after the battle and are examining it. Let's hope that it's not a job crystal, you don't want to turn into a Lucavi!
You can remain optimistic about a gunblade job, I do recall there being interviews that said some new jobs may be unique to FFXIV. However, it's also fairly normal Garlean weaponry, perhaps hinting more that a Garlean NPC will become important than a new job being added.
