Time Knight (Tank Concept)

Hey y'all so I've some a few tweaks to the concept I made, taking some of the feedback into consideration and polishing up some of the abilities, spells, and such, to make it look a bit more appealing. I also added a level there, to sort of show what level he learns things.

Lastly, the name Time Knight was a tough one to rename, I've seen a lot of suggestions from a couple posts that were here. Time Battle Mage / Chronomancer to name the two; I thought about it a lot and came up with a few other ones lol:

Timeslayer, Auspice Walker, or just a regular ol' Time Mage in the form of a tank lol. Anyways, thanks for the replies and feedback, Pat Out.

Changes look better for the mechanics and ability stuff, but that lore still sticks out to me like a sore thumb.

Why not Chronos Knight? Also as nice as a node it might be to Bravely Default, I don't recommend using Eloch for a "lore" name. Not that it's bad per se, but BD used a lot of puns. My recommandation is minorly link it to the Hildebrand quests with Quan.

Ahaha I'll look into sort of adjusting the lore and start a new story. And yeah those names also sound really good; Watcher and Chronoguard, I especially enjoy Chronos Knight! Thanks a lot Eloah and Kazrah. The feedback is always so appreciated =)

I fixed he Lore just now lol; as Eloah said, it was quite easy to tie it in with Hildibrand Helidor, apparently I missed these quests and lore in my romp through FFXIV, and now I am eager to delve into them. =D

Granted I did gloss over it but from a few concepts I noticed, it looks like some mechanics are themed slightly differently than what you'd expect. Since we have downtime today, I might show you what I mean and share it with you, so you can see what I mean. But regardless of and feedback I or anyone else gives you, keep at these, flexing your creativity is never a bad thing.

Thanks for the feedback! So I will rethink the Lore behind the job a little bit later on, after work lol; I've done some minor adjustments to the abilities, and utilized more iconic reoccurring abilities / spells from the history of the Time Mage in the Final Fantasy franchise

For example, Light Arts is a new one, just to add a small uniqueness to its own merit, and I changed Omnipresence to Teleport.

Pretty much this is what I thought too. For lore, it starts with answering three questions:

1) Where did this become a thing? Usually this is tied to a particular nation or region.
2) Why did this become a thing? Typically jobs are explained as solutions to particular problems.
3) How does this thing reach the prime protagonist? This would be either be a lone person or representative of some party.

Most of that stuff is there, but the rule of thumb when it comes to key NPCs for job storylines seems to be exclusivity to those stories and not to any other storyline within the game, with the only exception being Estinien due to potential favoritism (otherwise, he'd have been killed off in Heavensward).

Okay so here is a little exert I sorta made to help you see what we mean by the lore. Also I used Chronosguard since I felt it sounded more "organizationy" based on what i wrote

Lore:
Ancient Sharlayan, the center of all knowledge throughout Eorzea, and Warden to those who desired to obtain it.

For centuries the Scholars of Sharlayan coveted the knowledge of Hydaelyn, preserving it for future generations to wield. Though desired by many, it was obtained by few, becoming vulnerable to the currents of time. Fearing the complete loss of all they have obtained, the implementation of an overseer became paramount. Thus, was the Order of the Chronosgaurd established.

Separated from time itself, the Chronosguard were tasked with not only preservation but also succession; finding those worthy enough to be adopted into the order. Wielders of scythes and dressed in blackened garb, the Chronosguard were the ones to give rise to the imagery of the reaper of souls. Alas, even those removed from time are not immune to it; with many a scar caused by the transgressions of man. Though mostly forgotten, those that remain are ever vigilant, stalwart in their duty to bestow unto others their collective knowledge.

Notes:
1: The quest is started in the Manderville Gold Saucer, to somewhat connect to the Hildibrand quests
2: Quan and Gigi* from the quest will be mentioned. Quan was to become a successor but his mentor was "removed" from him for some reason. He wasn't a bad person something just happened to his mentor.
3: Chronosguards are addressed by their last name, and the one you encounter at the Saucer is Chronosguard Quale, a Plainsfolk Lalafell whose full name is Dale Quale(subject to change, lol)
4: He is at the Saucer since he got a feeling a new recruit would present themselves there (you)
5: He has another recruit already named Quina, an female Plainsfolk Lalafell whose full name is Quinana Quina. (Lalafells were picked since they are the most androgynous)
6: Once you become a recruit, you learn about what it means to be a Chronosguard.
7: The quests would involve more references to FFIX, like the BLMs (Mammets, Porogos[frog drop] and locations like Ipsen's Castle, Fossil Roo, The Marsh, etc.
