This is not sarcasm.
I thoroughly enjoyed running Aurum Vale with my squadron on a command mission. Finally, not having to worry about other party members not doing poison fruits correctly because the NPC are completely immune to the mech (the main player is not, but I know how to do mechs).
It was great, going at my own pace, the NPCs had over twice the health I have and I have good gear on, which made them surviving the 100 ton swipes and status breaths bearable.
Sohm Al was actually a little difficult, because all of the targeting mechs go on the main player. It means the main player has to know mechs well in order to overcome the back to back blobs (if not killed fast enough with Myath), and to be able to dodge all the aoes for Tioman (which during his Comet phase, all of them come after you so the aoes are like 2 seconds apart). I felt like I was a decoy dancing and dodging while bossing the squadron to take down the boss/adds. It was loads of fun and felt different from doing it normally.
The exp for both was great (I didn't do an actual comparison but I know other command missions have a hidden 60% exp boost directly added to the base mob exp so I'll assume it's the same for these). As a person who doesn't want to just spam POTD, and likes hopping around with different leveling methods, this gives pretty much the same amount of exp/time (with Rested on).
Thank you!!!
I'd love Aery and/or the Vault next (Ideally The Vault). I want to be able to get to 60 on my side jobs without stepping foot in the speed running madness of POTD more than a few times (for funsies), but Sohm Al will probably only good exp-wise until about 56ish, and I've got 8 jobs < 60.
I like being able to step away for a second without telling people, not dealing with trolls/drama, keeping all that loot for GC/glamour (and other special drops if there are any), being able to enter an instance without queuing, being able to leave without a penalty - all of the things that make command missions awesome <3. And since I only go leveling other jobs once or twice a week, I'm sure I'll still be below 60 on a few jobs by the time it's released. So...The Vault for 4.4?
I know new command missions aren't the "sexy" part of patches, but I really had fun with these - more than I ever did with real people - and I hope others like myself did too.
