because they are installing guestbooks for the next patch, how about gil donations? I know many people with well furnished houses (houses as hotels or shops) who would love this idea. Yes?

Sounds like yet another route to police for RMT.
I don't see this happening.
May the onion guide your way.
So a tip for having and designing a house? I like free gil as much as the next Hyur...but why.

I’m... a little confused. If you need Gil it isn’t that hard to make.

I don't really see the point in this aside from the obvious issues that will arise. You can enter someone's residence and it'll look like a restaurant or whatever, but that's all it is: eye candy. Many layouts can be achieved very easily and cheaply depending how you go about obtaining the items. Gil is not hard to obtain and the more I'm thinking about this post, the more I'm looking at praise through money and not words.

It just doesn't really make sense to me, either. If you're looking at it from an RP point of view, I guess I can see it - opening up a trade menu with someone is kind of immersion-breaking if you want to pay them for the meal you just had at their restaurant, or whatever. But there are so many things you can't actually achieve with RP, like naturally handing over items, most gestures, etc, that I think it'd be pretty low on the list of things to look for fixes for.
If you're not looking at it from an RP point of view, then... what? You put a lot of time and gil/effort into your house, I should... give you more gil? Is it coming from the idea that you think other people are going to use your house/restaurant/shop/etc as their own RP playground and should pay you for the use?
It really comes across like "pay me for the privilege of looking at my efforts". If that's not the intent, I'm sorry, but I have a hard time seeing what else it could be.

No, makes zero sense, I certainly would never leave a donation for visiting someone's house, they obviously know how to earn gil themselves to be able to afford and decorate it, as a home owner in game, I'd feel uncomfortable with someone leaving me a donation.

I don't really understand. If you already have a house, what do you need "donations" for? Like, Im absolutely more than happy to help literally anyone with that expense, because each house that goes to someone who genuinely wants one is one less that ends up in the hands of the /xivhousing/ crowd. But beyond that, is there really anything you'd need any significant amount of gil for in this game?

If you want to give the estate owner money, just go to their retainer and buy something.
After buying my small house, decorating it, and getting it all nice and setup. I spent a bit over HALF of what I had saved up. Why would I want others to donate money to me when I don't need it. Most low level crafts are easy enough to make and sell decently enough. Plus doing roulettes net more than enough gil to make plenty on my own. I'm sure I made back a third of what was spent since then too.
