Should keyboard shortcuts change the channel of a typed message?

I agree with the OP: I think pressing Ctrl + X should be equal to typing /x at the beginning. Right now they're not the same thing. Also, typing Ctrl + y should change the line's channel, regardless of the method previously used; this means a /y should be inserted at the beginning, and the default shouldn't change. I also think the default should only be set by typing /cm x and that the channel change effected by Ctrl + x should only be temporary.

I am of the opinion that if the current behavior is intended, it's bad design, for it creates inconsistencies, and should be changed. If it's a bug, it should be fixed.
