While I think the 4.3 trailer is probably the best so far in Stormblood, I do miss the old trailers that would highlight new gear, glamour, and hairstyles.
Some of us look forward to more than just the "main attractions."

I feel like I could follow the trailer well enough to tell what was being shown where, knowing what I know about the content already in place and having followed the different quest scenarios, but I have to say that it did feel like it went every direction at once with voice-overs from the msq dominating it, so I can see how some would get confused when certain characters and events don’t show up in certain places.

I kind of miss the old format of trailers showing off everything felt more of a nice teasing preview now it’s just “ok I think I saw a new sword and one? Dungeon?”

Word on the street has it that this is part of SE's new greedy scheme.
Cut everything > less production cost and maximize profit.
Proof for this theory: Freemium app, €150 emotes, mogstation items are character bound (no longer account bound), separated male / female version of armors, outfits of quest lines now locked behind mogstation purchase (mandervile stuff), etc.

Except the production values of the trailer are up.
It's easy to just cut together segments of content. It's not so easy to make a trailer look good, give information, and be quick about it.
They could make a 30 minute trailer showcasing everything, but it wouldn't have high production values just because it's longer...
Also, I'm pretty sure having male and female versions of armor requires more work, not less..... And the Mandeville outfit is npc gear, which has always been on the mogstation. You guys are reaching hard these days.

You really don't understand sarcasm do you?Except the production values of the trailer are up.

Well partly, it's no sarcasm about them being greedier.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
I enjoyed the 4.3 trailer. However we only get 10% of what was shown on 4.3 patchday. Which makes me anoyed.

Pretty sure they done that as well for the old trailers. They showed stuff not even coming in patch until a few weeks after so makes no difference to me.
I don't know... maybe it's just because I don't need a trailer to show me what I am going to get when I already know what I am going to get? If I want more details I will just go to the patch website or check the patch notes when it releases. I don't think a trailer needs to be 8 minutes long showing every piece of content that will be in the patch. I just see that as a waste of time because at that point is it even a trailer anymore if its getting to the 10 minute mark?

I never said or meant it's something new. I just miss the old 2.x trailers when we got everything in a patch. I very dislike their approach with splitting up their content.
Can't please everyone.
Pretty sure they aim these trailers to both current playing customers and people who never played or took a break to show up upcoming features.

The first time they started showing in trailers things coming in x.xn patches was with 2.5 trailer so ye it is nothing new
That said I like the old style, but I don't mind the new one feels more cinematic in a way
