Demonic/Angelic Attire - Lore Reason

we know that exist gear with wing, like dreadwyrm gear. but does any lore explain this "fashion look"? because i don't see any npc gear with wing or anything "weird". All npc looks dress the traditional fashion style

the only stranger thing is the masks that some npc wear. Nothing more than that.

It's a KR/CN set that trough the power of asking was added to the mogstation, because ppl wanted it.

Probably no Lore reason. At least not one I can think of that would make sense. Other than "I want to look like a Devil/Angel." Much akin to the Halloween costumes.

Well there is that one pomander which has angel wings. Our fairy gets feather wings with the LB and we do have wings as gimmick for the bonding ceremony. The demonic gear could be explained that its built after a voidsent. (Or someone wanted to create Au Ra horns)

First off: Thise is gear created by a third party, the company that has the rights to publish FFXIv in China/Korea, so this hasnt to be "lore-approved" by the dev-team, I'd guess. (SE is even paying that company now to bring that gear to us - thats why its on the mogstation: SE doesnt own the rights on that gear and they need to pay licenses fews for it).

Second: There is plenty of rather eccentric gear we can wear, that we dont see on NPCs - which makes sense. They're there to create illusion and immersion, so they better be dressed in a way that fits the setting! Your character however isnt bound by those rules, if you dont want him too!

Third: We're actually seeing horns and wings on other gear aswell - the Dreadwyrm-gear has wings, so does some SMN-AF (this comes with horns, too). We have Succubus- and Ultima-horns in the game already aswell. And while the Succubus-horns resemble a void-sent, the Ultima-horns do not. (They actually look a bit similar to the demon horns, I'd say?)
In regards to angelic creatures, we have the Kuribu - thats the PotD-pomander, but more famously the last boss in AK HM. A stone golem created by the Amdapori to protect themself against Mhach - which is about all we know about it though.

On the matter of "Is demonic attire weird for RP?": Without being into RP myself, my guess would be that that depends on the kind of RP you're engaging in? The story you tell, your "RP-style" dictates whats weird or not, not the official lore! Unless you wanna RP within the bounds of that lore - in which case I'd say its absolutly okay to wear that gear, even if NPCs dont. Think of yourself as the shiny hero of the world, probably more "upperclass" even though you're still an adventurer (after all, you're invited to have tea with the Sultana!) while most NPCs are common folks, barely making enough to feed and clothes themself at all. Your demon/angle attire is "high fashion" that you can afford, but they cant.
