I think you seen bots, I seen this happen in east shroud near the box's where the bee farmers are.
They seem to be under the ground and the monsters target them and go underground I can't see names of bots to report so I just walk away.

Its weird trust me, I even seen bots flying in the sky before in the rafters in gridania above the inn.
Their attempts to conceal themselves are ultimately futile as they can't hide from player search.
