    I don't know how large they're planning on making 2.0 areas, but if they're around the same size I'd prefer to keep teleports class-independent. I always thought it was kinda weird to have it as a WHM thing in FFXI... I guess it's just me being practical lol ^^;

    I myself would prefer whm to have tele spells and a blm to have the warp spells. I believe some players dont want those in the game because they are in FFXI. I hate animas and wish they would just give us the damn tele spells, as well as sneak and invis. I added sneak and invis because in at least 2 zones monsters are sight and sound. Walking by the sound mobs no an issue the sight mobs are a different story as if they so much as turn around (and they do) you are dead. Its a 50/50 chance and mostly the player loses on the sight mobs.


    Now with tele spells on a class/job could also be limited to this many per real life hour or 1 game day.

    Anima is great. There is no need to increase travel time.

    Having said that, I would prefer that you need to make an initial trek to a crystal before you can teleport there. (That is, you can't be teleported somewhere unless you have touched the crystal, like in FF11)

    either get rid of anima or have it create a negative status effect if used too frequently. Give me a reason to not use it and take the airship or chocobo.

    actually, i do personally think that the idea you can teleport anytime anywhere with a anima that gives allowance of 6 every 24 hrs is bad. To some its good, but to new players ( casual players i hope ) is bad. i still remember helping members is my old linkshell

    member B " can someone please help member C, ill be back later. he has been stuck for 3 days now "

    me " /tell member C, hey so whatsup? you need help doing Grand company quest? "

    member C " yeah "

    me " okay, so what does the journal tells you to do"

    member C "tells me to go to camp tranquill, "

    me " okay, lets teleport there then, ill fight the monsters for you "

    Member C " thats the problem. i dont have anima and i dont wana run"

    me "inside my head ( ANGER, REMORSE, CONFUSION, WTH~~!!!!! ) okay. follow me we will run there, you can auto follow me if you want, just make sure your always on auto follow >.> "

    Member C " . . . . ."

    soo yeah... if new players get spoiled with the ANIMA thats already 100! at the beginning, they will just get too spoiled and get lazy to run around. Hell i walked alot since the lunch date, i even do locals every reset and i never teleported cause i save my anima when i host Leve Link Parties ( because most of the time random participants doesnt have anima either )

    in the end, i do like the ideas DocMog presented in the very first post. other option is the Anima Teleportation is unlocked through a quest like the Chocobo Liscence.

    Umm a few things...

    1) You could have teleported him yourself by forming a party

    2) If you didnt have anima, tell him to hop on an airship. My entire GC quests involved lots of airship tickets and chocobo rentals

    3) Walking anywhere takes a very long time, especially without a chocobo. It is absurd to expect everyone to spend 15-20 mins just *getting* to a quest npc. If anima didnt exist, im willing to bet a lot of ppl wouldnt bother. Mounts make it doable, but before mounts its just awful. The game requires you to travel a lot, and yet travel takes a ridiculous amount of time for no reason.

    4) As ive said a billion times, anima runs out. People learn to walk eventually. Think of anima as training wheels on a bicycle. If they dont wanna walk after they run out of anima, they wouldnt have wanted to if anima was never there in the first place.

    5) Generally walking anywhere right now is a waste of time. There's nothing out there worth seeing (except coerthas or mor dhona). I can't knock people that love to walk, but i can say that you seriously can't expect that out of everyone. People have things to do with their life, some of them (if not most) working.


    And someone has *yet* to explain to me how WHM teleports are any better than anima. I'm starting to get the sense that anima haters just hate the fact that it runs out. Lets drop the pretext of "more immersion" and get to the heart of the issue here.

    Wow. You are too nice.
    I am happy to help new players as much as I can, but not if they are simply too lazy to do anything for themselves.

    Member C wanted a free ride and to just sit back while someone else fights the monsters?
    For someone like that, what's the purpose of even logging in?

    I don't see anima and teleportation as the problem here.

    Didn't say it had to make sense.

    Leveling is explained in FFXIV lore as "becoming stronger" by NPC's. It is a physical representation of how tough/smart/agile/etc your character has become.

    One crystal to another would also make sense.

    Porting from anywhere in the world always seemed a bit odd to me.
