    As much as I'd rather the mages have teleporting skills, instead of everyone having it, I actually like this idea. Make anima exclusive to crystals rather than being able to go anywhere at any time! Then maybe it would run out less often..

    Teleporting around, Anima, it doesn't feel Final Fantasy to me. It never will. It seems broken that I can port around (even on a timer), to anywhere. It just seems TOO strong a mechanic in a MMO.
    I have never played a MMO that let you go almost anywhere, anytime, on any class, from anywhere.

    Sure, classes had teleport and summon skills, but FFXIV porting takes the cake.

    Idk.

    It just "feels" broken. I never leave town unless I have anima or can bum a ride from someone who does. I figure if Anima didnt exist, people might actually be running around in game instead of waiting on anima recharge.

    speed boots instead of realistic airships and mounts? what a freaking idea..

    He means leave chocobos and airships IN the game, as in don't touch them, and in addition to chocobos and airships, add boots and w/e (don't like the idea of speed boots but whatever). Reading comprehension ftw.

    Also, teleportation exclusively through crystals is the best suggestion I've heard so far in my unimportant opinion.

    I agree with the abolition of the current Anima system, it feels like i'm cheating. Not only can I magically teleport to anywhere in the world at a moments notice with no cost at all, but I can take my entire party with me, even if they haven't been there before.

    Need a tough to get node? Just have someone who has it teleport you there.

    One of the absolute best parts of FFXI was the world design and immersion. Traveling was important, but there were enough options available to you as you progressed to not make it that big of a burden. You could Airship or teleport to the general region, then chocobo to the specific location. It helped make the world feel like a *world*, not like your typical MMO "bunch of zones and a hub." One of the biggest issues the World of Warcraft developers are now facing is that they made their world *TOO* accessible with flying mounts, and it severely diminished their world building, and this port-anywhere anima system feels the same. Hoofing it to Jeuno, getting your choco license, and getting your Airship license in FFXI felt like major accomplishments and were serious character progression points.

    Either follow the suggestion of making it crystal to crystal only, or abolish the whole thing and give us back teleport spells. You should also only be able to teleport to a crystal if you've actually been to that crystal before.

    You guys made one of the most memorable and detailed worlds in MMO history, and i'm confident you'll do it again. Please don't shun your own work with the magical teleport "lazy button" anymore, let us enjoy the world you so painstakingly create :/

    That doesn't work very well, for it ignores the problem of party forming. If im in a group and they decide they want to go to Natalan (as an example), if ive never been to coerthas what then? No group is going to wait until someone takes a choco to grid from uldah, to coerthas, to natalan. Or they might, it really just depends. I can foresee a lot of ppl getting booted from parties simply because of that.

    Anima is very limited so its not an issue. If you're worried about ppl getting spoiled just lower the anima cap, or give it a hard-cap of 4-5 times per day (or lower, not married to this figure). You dont have to axe it altogether, ppl are way too extreme about things.

    I think it's more fun to make the game where EVERYTHING takes more time. Make the airship wait time 20 minutes (like in FFXI). Just make it so people waste more time doing nonsense before they can actually play the game or do something fun. GREAT IDEA!
