Umm... Why?
I ride my chocobo there most of the time, but if other people teleport it doesn't affect my game experience.

After following this thread for a while, I'm a bit confused.
It sounds like most people do want some form of instant travel and fast travel -- be teleportation through spells or anima, airships, chocobo and other mounts, etc.
It also sounds like most people want there to be some sort of restrictions in place so you can't just get anywhere, anytime, instantly and without any effort.
How does anima not fulfill these wishes?
Is it because it's limited and always running out?
So people want to shift the limiting factor to something else like gil, Grand Company seals, time, or time to rank up a certain class? I really don't understand how that would be better. ><;

What you are hearing are proposals from people who play a lot--40 hours a week or more. They are proposing teleportation schemes that cost something you can earn more of by playing more and thus favor people who play a lot, as opposed to anima, which grows at a fixed rate whether you're playing or not, and thus favors people who play maybe 10 hours a week. This is, of course, by design; it ensures that player with limited play time gets the most out of his limited time without letting the hardcore grinder teleport everywhere all the time.After following this thread for a while, I'm a bit confused.

I would hope that SE leaves the current system -OR- if they change it, that they do so in a way that is fair to all players regardless of how many hours in a week they get to play, how much money they have, or what level they are at.What you are hearing are proposals from people who play a lot--40 hours a week or more. Personally, the fairest idea in this thread sounds like the one about not allowing someone to be teleported to a gate that they have not previously attuned with. This would mean that at least the first time, the person needs to get there on their own.
I also play 40~ hours per week and usually have nearly 100 anima even though I use it when convenient. I also ride my chocobo a lot, which I guess helps. ^^

I too am perplexed. The means doesn't justify the end in the cases where teleportation stays.
It seriously takes like 3mins to get to both places on chobos.........
I was in a party and we were going to drybone I was like "Why don't we just choco out there? it will save ya anima and what not as well" they were like "Takes too long..."
See what a big issue that is? Maybe not to you but to me it is.

I would go with you on Chocobo. ^^It seriously takes like 3mins to get to both places on chobos.........

But if they want to use their anima and teleport the party, I would go along with it.
Teleporting does save the group time and perhaps there are people in the party who don't have much time to play.
I see you don't like anima because it makes some people lazy (rather than you've used it all and now feel stuck).
But removing anima will not make these people any less lazy.
They will just try to take the next shortcut or complain about how terrible things are here on the forums. ^^;
If ppl want to be lazy they'll be lazy. In FF11, I can't tell you how many time i use warp and teleport spells to get somewhere faster but im still glad i had the option yeah could have gotten a choco, taking the airship or hop on a boat to get to places (and still did from time to time) but hey i had the spells so i was gonna use them. The problem here is there is no good reason to remove or change the system if you have an issue with ppl wanting to get to places faster why don't you have an issue with mounts?It seriously takes like 3mins to get to both places on chobos.........

Keep anima.
Make it only available at Aetheryte Crystals and not from menu.
