leveling "just exists too"
theres a ton you can claim "just exists"
doesnt mean it needs to go
i personaly think of it just as "fast travel" in its own right, you can imagine it any way you want to
remember, its a game, it doesnt always have to make sense

Cooll. Thanks for the lore link. Good to know ^^

From the "official" flash site:
tl;dr: Teleporting strains our souls.Though the exact mechanism behind teleportation via aetheryte is still largely a mystery, one theory states that when a sentient being approaches one of the portals, the aether that makes up its body resonates with the aether of the crystals, which in turn results in a complete breakdown of the being's mass, allowing it to temporarily return to the invisible aetheric streams that course throughout the planet. The being's soul, which cannot be broken down, then guides the particles to a pre—determined destination, and upon arrival, the corresponding aetheryte receptacle reconfigures the mist back into its original form. This whole process takes only a matter of moments, allowing for nearly instant transportation to faraway destinations.
However, being broken down to the aetheric level can take its toll on one's body, and rest is often required after several consecutive jumps, especially as the distance becomes greater. As a precaution, most city—states strongly discourage over—teleporting, as it can lead to irreversible damage...

pity that isn't an animation: the mist coming out of the crystal coalescing. (bad for the GPU perhaps)

to be or not to be: sqrt( 4 b ^2 )

I wish instead of a black loading screen we got an acid trip CS like entering promyvion in XI. Seriously. The animation is lame. Any improvement would be greatly appreciated--especially if it tied into the lore.![]()

I would like it if they made more references to Anima in the actual game, and prettied up the animation a bit as well. Instead of just an effect that happens on your character give it an animation."

I personally think anima has spoiled people, I think once the maps are redone if we could teleport to those floating crystals pretty much breaking from the ground that would be pretty cool... but not through anima.. spells would be nice.. I liked getting teles from people :3

I wish anima didn't exist. I hope it goes away in 2.0. It just feels too... over-powered and makes the world boring.
I can be anywhere at any time. There is no adventure. I miss having to travel through areas and avoid tough monsters to get places, like in XI, and other games.. it was exciting.
While there may be some lore to anima, it still seems pretty broken to me. How can anything, like the Garleans, or beastmen be a threat when we can just teleport away at any time? "Oh no! They're attacking! Good thing everyone and their dog can just reappear somewhere else in an instant! YAY!"
Also... I agree with this that anima has made people spoiled.
I would love if teleporting was done through spells to certain areas only... Having the power to be anywhere instantly is just far too broken.I personally think anima has spoiled people, I think once the maps are redone if we could teleport to those floating crystals pretty much breaking from the ground that would be pretty cool... but not through anima.. spells would be nice.. I don't want them to remove teleporting from the game, but I don't like that it's a power that everyone has and anyone can be anywhere anytime. I would prefer teleporting form an NPC, crystal to crystal (the crystals have the power, not us), or spells (using magic just makes more sense to me.)
