Are you being serious or is this a joke thread? You're on a ONLINE game which people can easily mod if they want (look at FFXI). Also why the heck do you care about something that is only pixels and not really you at all? So someone saw your little lala ass naked, who cares? Also, SE doesn't really care. This should've been obvious unless you're new to SE MMOs. Unless you post pictures of your real life self online or on lodestone or w/e and people harass you that way, what can they really do to you? SE probably already knew these mods existed. Do you think they don't know about FFXI's mods after all these years? Come on now. Who seriously cares what people think about your AVATAR?
I'm not trying to sound like a d**k but like someone else in this thread said: Get over it.
To the OP ...
You do realize there are more mods out there than just OMFG NEKKED ones?
There are some beautiful ones that help smooth out some of the ugly textures used on faces, and eyes. Ones that make your character look like a male and not some anorexic stick. You know .. human.
Yeah I've seen them. Yeah I've actually been IN the Discord (were you?) I have no idea why you are getting so upset. It isn't forced on your computer. Just client side, like you said.
Sadly, a lot about this game is really ... ugly. And I wish a lot of the outfits showed a bit more skin, especially on my male hyur.
FYi, as a person who HAS seen what happens ...
The only reason a GM took action against a modder, is they posted a screenshot on their media post without using the FF14 credit to the screenshot (from what I read) as well as some idiot was selling them for actual money.
When reading the text of the chat with the GM, it seems that was the only way they knew of the modding (through the media post). That's it. Of course, the player asked if ACT was also not allowed, but the GM side stepped the question. Makes you wonder .. hm? Especially if they say that it isn't in some way in their own ToS.
So yeah.
FYI, I don't use mods. I have thought about it, sure. But reading how to do it got me a little concerned so I didn't. But dang, some of them are beautiful.
ACT? Honestly, those type of mods are pretty simple. It's the same rule as in any MMO, if you keep it to yourself and use it to provide polite helpful advice for others that can improve their performance, actually nobody will care. If you use it to harass people....you will be banned and at that point, it's deserved.FYi, as a person who HAS seen what happens ...

The whole stigma around those type of mods is because some people use it to harass others, you'd be surprised how many people actually use that mod, they just don't tell you about it, the most they do is offer a few tips for your class on how to do better.
It sucks to be you get over it.
I know, and it doesn't bother me a bit.
My point is, if GMs get up in arms over modding people do, then they need to get rid of those who use ACT ... right?
I've had someone take a screenshot of me wearing a certain outfit on my female character. That model had me shirtless and my breasts were showing. It was hilarious. Did I get upset? Nope.
Oh, FYI .. I have been harassed by people who use ACT. I wasn't doing enough damage they thought I should be doing on a BRD, and decided to let me know even after the dungeon. So don't think anything is innocent /shrugs

I'm not bothered by the nude thing with mods but where it is getting out of control is glamour. Someone posts some really awesome cosplay or just a general look. You ask what bottom is X or Y and they're like "it's modded". Really frustrating.
It may be frustrating, but if it looks really awesome then you know why they have those particular mods. If you're not on PC, then all I have to say is sorry, but if you are then it should be pretty easy to get into the circles of people who mod.
I am on PC. It's annoying because when you cosplay glam, you're trying to get as close as possible with what's available in game. Modding is just cheating.
