Mod users in FFXIV are getting out of control

Please, do name these two MMOs supposedly affected by third party tools. I certainly hope these games are actually decent MMOs with a decent size player base.

You cannot equate bots to ACT because in essence, they achieve different functions. Somebody who does not raid or even utilize the tool to help improve their own performance in endgame content should not be running their mouth about how it hurts anything. If anything is going to kill this game, it'll be the devs for sucking out the life of the game by being stagnant. Not third party tools.

Reading the source code to ACT or the FFXIV ACT plugin is easy, so yes I know exactly what it does and what it is capable of, and it's capable of doing the exact same thing any bot can do, so please don't pretend it isn't.

Harassment happens, no matter what. You don't need ACT to harass somebody. A healer can easily be harassed for not healing. A player can easily be harassed just for picking Lalas. You don't need a tool for that. In fact, there are probably far more instances of harassment without tools.

Also, I'm still waiting for you to name those two MMOs. Or perhaps you conveniently forgot them. In which case, name what you remember and I'll do the research on those games for you, just to see if these claims of yours have any merits.

How does it hurt the game? It allows me to try different rotations and new things and see how my DPS changes (for worse or better), and when I was still new and learning this DPS meter helped me a great deal.
I use a DPS meter in ESO
I use a DPS meter in WoW
I use a DPS meter in RIFT

I'm a tank and maintaining emnity and mitigating damage are the 2 main things I need to take care off, but after that my personal goal is to always aim for higher damage while not failing the other 2.
The game itself does not show me how much damage per second I did to the boss.
I don't care I can kill the SSS dummy in time, I care about how high my DPS is on the first run and the second run and the third, ...
I want to keep improving, uping that number, gear improving, skill improving.

Am I playing the game wrong?

Are you kidding me? Is this about Mabinogi of all things? Parsing definitely did not harm that game. It was the rampant botting and injectors that continually circumvented the security measures that Nexon put in their games. Parsers had nothing to do with that. And in Nexons case, the botting really was a nightmare to contend with because it really was difficult to keep bots out, especially in Maplestory. I know this for a fact because I am a former GM there.

Switch "incident" with "hack" maybe you'll have better luck.

There are dummys in the game you can test your rotations on. You do not need a third party tool.

I still need a third party tool.

The dummy is just mashing your buttons against a fully stationary target without needing to watch enmity, watch party members that I can use a CD on, move around to do certain mechanics, etc.
My DPS is different on each boss depending what the mechanics are, how much you need to run around, how much you have to go back in shield stance for a bust, etc.
With the tool it shows me how much damage I did to the boss, let's say 4K, then the next runs I do after that I will try to get that number higher.
The target dummy does not provide that information.
Maybe you haven't fully understood why I said what kind of information I wanted.

The reason I play MMO's is for the sense of improvement. DPS is part of the 'keep improving' mindset I have.

What do you think the FFXIV ACT plugin does? It's only a hair removed from the same tool that caused the Black Robe Incident.
