They’re very clearly taking the idea of their character too far. By this, I mean that it seems like they are forgetting the fact that:
    1. They are not their character.
    2. Their character is not them.
    3. They seem to think it’s even remotely comparable to compare pictures of a nude, virtual characters to real nude pictures of themselves online.

These are all aside from the fact that they want to punish the majority of modders just because a few are acting like two-year-olds. The three I listed are the reasons why I disagree with the OP. They are not their character, and their character is not them. I find it silly they way that they are talking as such.
I don’t entirely agree with the OP myself, since honestly, it’s no skin off my back if someone decides to use a mod and see my character naked…it honestly has no affect on me. The only way I would actually bring it up, to GMs(since honestly, 99.999999999~% of mods are for personal enjoyment of the game), is when they start harassing me over something. At that point, blacklist and wash my hands.

I will agree that the lack of concrete evidence(yes the one I quoted earlier can be seen as harassment, or someone who saw this thread and decided to poke fun – which again, could be seen as harassment), and the deleting of posts doesn’t provide them much credibility.

Unfortunately, the way the world works a good 80% of the time, fear mongering tends to get the most(not always best) results.

I am much the same way. I just ignore people that are twats and go about my business. I’m aware people mod, and if they see my character naked with...questionable mods...well it doesn’t really matter to me. I see her as I see her, and that’s that.

For me, it’s always if you have something that you are legitimately concerned about, why are you going back and deleting posts? It’s much like retracting your statements in my view.

Sadly, you are right. It’s an unrelated topic, but on my last day of class, one of my classes had a debate about a lot of the school marches that are going on to right now with regards to school shootings, and about how it’s causing unnecessary fear-mongering because teenagers are far more likely to die in a car accident caused by either texting while driving or driving while under the influence than they are to die by a school shooting. Yet, the fear-mongering (causes primarily by media, I’m sure) makes it seem like it’s a common occurrence for people to just bring a gun to school willy-nilly. That topic and this one are completely unrelated, but the inherent concept of fear-mongering garnering the most results is the same.

I can understand where you’re coming from, but the comment Tridus quoted was entirely uncalled for. Stereotyped or not, nothing excuses this mindset of “you’re asking for it by looking like that”. I dislike stereotypes, even though I know they exist for a reason; I just try not to use them as judgments of individuals—for example, I play almost exclusively Miqo’te, and my sole reason for choosing it over Hyur was because I love cats, and the character creator options for Miqo’te suited my main (Hyomin) more than the Hyur ones; I don’t play Miqo’te because I’m a “furry” or a “G.I.R.L.” (I actually am female in real life) or whatever other stereotypes exist out there for female Miqo.

I disagree with the OP on many grounds, but that comment was unnecessary. I won’t deny that some people need to grow thicker skins, but there are just some things that are down-right awful to say and that should never even be said in the first place. But, to be honest, the comment itself speaks volumes for the type of person the poster is rather than the OP (at least with regards to stereotypes).

A fair point. I'll never agree with the phrase, "You're asking for it by doing X." I will, however, concede that if you're going to do something very specific and NOT expect the most obvious results, then a portion of the blame rests on you.

If I spend all day working out and getting a tan and basically making myself look, "Sexy," and then start walking around shirtless to show off, hoping other guys are attracted to me, and some women start calling me sexy and it makes me uncomfortable, well, I'm the one who chose to dress in a way to emphasize my efforts to become attractive. It'd be stupid to blame them for my choices. What would be unacceptable would be for them to be outright lewd or refuse to accept I'm not interested in them in return, which is where I take issue with the, "You're asking for it by doing X," mentality, since it comes off as an excuse to behave in such a manner.

Still, on some level, we as individuals need to be willing to accept responsibility for our choices and actions, and we should be mindful of the outcomes of said actions.
