You know...In my opinion, modding is fine. Actually, I like the idea of people tweaking some game textures to take more "control" over the personnalisation of their character.
Where I'm not fine, it's when it come to harassment. We all have different sensibility towards it, some will just shrug it off while other will take offense. I think it really depend on how deeply you immerse yourself in the game. And on that point, I can understand why OP is worried about it.
To me, modding is a chance as a PC player, and it's great that SE tolerate it. But if people start to complain, they will take action one way or an other and it will come as a real disappointment for a lot of people.
Be responsible and only take NSFW pictures of your own character and other who are fine with it, if you want to post it on a social media. We have nothing to gain, as a community, by defending this kind of behavior.
There are some items I'd just love if they were just a little tweaked...
A different color here....
Remove some excessive ornamentation there...
Better textures all over there...
Modding could really freshen up the game.
Because it ain't you, its a fictional character with a fictional name that you pay for every month.
You are not unique people could make same model same clothing same name on another server would you still claim that it is you if you seen a picture?
If I was seen naked I wouldn't even care not like its me in rl.
Also by the way if this has went into real life why you going out and putting your info out there to begin with if so that falls on you......... you better know that person very well before you go and do that.
its a known fact unless you met the person and had a personal relationship best bet not to hand out info unless you are 100% positive its the right person.
I ain't saying you have but if you did tisk tisk.
Does this mean modders can see my massive piece?! What a crime!!!
Your character is not you, even if i admit there is part of "you" in the character.
I am a man, i mainly play female. on game where i do RP, my characters are a part of me, part of my personnality and mind. BUT are not me... I am not a woman, but a man, proud of it. my character are most of time female... They cant be me.
Yes, those mods user can get some lewd eyes to your character. your CHARACTER. You have to clearly understand the difference. I dont say they are right to do. Just, you dont have to feel harassed or anything else.
To finish, SE does some warnings and ban due to modding (NSFW AND SFW modding) : https://twitter.com/EZ_Resanoca/status/989585639120097280?s=09
this was for SFW pictures, and they manage to link the twitter to the account.
The matter is... Lets say, i take one of those mods, so, if i see your character, i see it nude, with numerous piercing all more perv than the others. BUT... i never put my screens online, and speak about it to nobody. in the state of the game now, SE cant know if i mod or not.
You scare about how modders could see your character mainly because you know it exists also. Probably, some saw you in perv outfit before you saw the first screen of modding on instagram or anywhere else.
I dont say "stupid, stop complaining" just, understand that the best way to live better is just... forget it exists. Dont care about it. SE already try to do against this (and... it is a lost war for them)
I agree. Modders can do in a matters of hours/days what it would take months for the devs to release in a patch (well, mostly because modders work on the client side, but you get the point). Modding will probably nether become official in any way, but it's great the way it is. I just hope SE won't take action against it if there too many complaint.

Its optional. Don't instal if you don't wnat, nobody is forcing you.
If it when to RL stalking then the Police should have been call no SE lolHers wasn’t just online it went into her IRL. But yes she did all those things and even when it got bad bad the GMs told her to get over it. You’re right it eventually stopped but my point is if they won’t do anything about real harassment and stalking the “they posted a screenshot I don’t like” would be bull.
