Should FFXIV add voice/sound triggers to the game?

For those that don't know PC players who use Active Combat Tracker can also use voice/sound triggers to callout mechanics, ready checks, and raid buff activations, and etcetera. Not all players have access to these resources so the purposed question is this "Should FFXIV provide players with in-game tools for calling out specific in-game information?" (Side note this is not referring to parsers and the idea of those shouldn't be discussed in this Thread)

Like the casting bar and the actual boss animation not enough?

I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

With so many things to keep track of... not always. I’m watching my cast bar, my buttons, where I’m actually standing, looking for incoming AoEs/mechanics/etc, other players’ status if I’m healing (or remembering that I ‘should’ be giving other players MP/TP boosts if I have them)... there are so many places to watch that I’ll always miss some of them.

Only if the PS4 players get to do it too. I hate to say it, but not everyone wears a headset, and some of us want to stay quiet since we play at like 1am.

Come to think of it, what would be nearly useful is if the camera/microphone were able to trigger emotes /speech macros (auto-translate only), so saying things like "stack" and "pads!" trigger something similar.

Computers have been able to do text/speech recognition since the late 90's, but unfortunately it requires training the system to recognize words, however it doesn't require that much processing effort to actually listen for previously trained words. So the game could introduce a "speech" element into the game where the player can use their microphone/headset and play something along the lines of "simon says" but with the voice.

The camera could be used to read the players face (if setup correctly) and change the emotes/facial expressions, animate talking, though this is mostly of benefit to players doing RP'ing. In actual combat I don't see much practical use.

Like Macro's with sound effects being spammed to hell and back because some players are idiots are not enough for you?

    No thanks...ill pass.

And for the record....most high end raiders use discord (A free product that runs on almost everything)....or any variant of voice communications.
Id prefer that...over any in-game sound effect.
There is such a thing as sensory overload.

They also use ACT to track their raid buffs. Calling out mechanics is usually handled by 1-2 members who are using these triggers.
    > ACT calls out a mechanic.
    > Party member forwards the information via voice chat to his party members.

These could be optional if added in-game. You chose whether you want to hear them or not.

ACT Callouts aren't really any different from a player calling them out in Discord. It's just convenient for some people, but it's not impacting my ability to do the content.

You can also learn the fight on your own and know what's coming when, it's not that difficult to accomplish if you look up the fight timeline and get experience on it.

I think alot of people are misunderstanding what I'm getting at when I say voice triggers. Lets say I'm doing a fight as a healer and I want to know when tank is using certain cooldown. Not to specifically call out every mechanic of the fight but I think it would be nice if I had the choice to ask the game to track when certain skills are used and tell me in voice for example: A Tankbuster comes up and the game says to me "Tank used Hallowed Ground" or "Tank used Holmgang" etc. Or as a Dps if I wanted to track when "Trick Attack" goes up on the boss etc. Not saying you have to have these options on, however I'm saying they should be optional.

So basically like the add-on WeakAuras shows you in WoW? (minus the voice).

A lot of people are against that here because they claim that the add-ons in wow play the game for you.

I would like any kind of improvement to the game. Even voice chat to party, it would be really fun to talk while doing roullete with new people.
