    Error 401

    Have been getting the 401 error for more than a month. None of my cards are working. Contacted banks and they are all fine. Husband was able to purchase a dye and it went through. He then received the 401 error when trying to buy an outfit for me . (We have the same bank account) All my information is up to date. So is his. It came out of the blue . We have been using the same banks /cards and were on a renew subscription plan since ARR launched. Until my Square Enix account was closed due to non payment because my card was blocked without me knowing (Feb2018).We update cards when required. We bought crysta via PayPal and we are getting the same 401 error. This is very frustrating. We have been loyal customers for a long time. We will not be able to play after the deadline since we cannot pay with ANY currency. Everything since Feb has been gifted to me from my husband but now he’s blocked too. Please advise.

    I apologize that you are having a hard time making purchases. Error 401 is one of the standard payment errors. This error can be caused by poor connection or insufficient funds. It is also very likely that the error is being caused by the use of the card on multiple accounts. Unfortunately, this is not something we can handle here on the technical support forums. You will need to contact the support center directly to rectify this issue.

    To reach our live chat support please follow the steps below.

    1. Visit the SQUARE ENIX Support Center at http://support.na.square-enix.com/
    2. Select FINAL FANTASY XIV as the game title.
    3. on the next screen click on "Contact".
    4. You will then need to select a category and sub category from the drop down menus.
    5. Next, type a basic description of your inquiry in the "Contact details" section and click "Next".
    6. on the following page click "Next" again. Ignoring any Knowledge Base Suggestions that may apply.
    7. Provided your contact is during SQUARE ENIX Support Center's hours of operation, you should see a Chat Support option. Click "proceed to chat support" to initiate contact with one of our Chat Support Representatives.
