Treasure hunts for making money

Is it worth it at all?

And at what level should I start doing so? Solo or party hunts?

you can find some things worth value in the lower level type treasure maps (i.e. boarskin) but the greater rewards come from the higher level ones like dragonskin maps from HW and gazelleskin maps from SB, because those can open portals to the Aquapolis and Lost Canals of Uznair respectively. Some treasure maps you can solo the mobs at a high enough level but the treasure dungeons you will definitely need a friend or two (or three).

While leveling up to get at those greatest rewards, theres still a chance to get some extra cash. As the other guy pointed out, some of the rewards you can find from a lower level map will be worth something. Even if you dont plan to clear them, its not a bad idea to dig up your maps regularly(you can find one per 18 hours). Plenty of people buy maps afterall. They could buy some of them from you until youre ready to treasure hunt yourself.

Just make sure when you do finally chose to do maps you have some room. The lower level maps don't give out much but the two that open portals depending on how far you go into their dungeons you could be getting a lot of stuff.
