I would imagine it's below 5%. I don't think what you're experiencing is an issue, however. It's probably just a case of bad luck. I've read that breaking mirrors typically has a negative impact on your real life luck stat, so if you have broken any mirrors in the recent past, I would advise you to say "Rabbit" when you wake up in the morning. I hear that's a thing in the UK. Don't do it if you're a ninja though.

I have seen 3 dogs in 80 runs of byakko which is the next wolf I want. Haven't got a clear on shinryu so cant speak of that one. I am wanting to get at least 99 totems so I can exchange when available or farm more if I feel like it.

It took me around 130 runs of Lakshmi for that wolf before it could be exchangable. I think less than 30 for Susano after the change to drop rate. It's just all rng. Some people are luckier than others.

Drop rates are fine. If you don't have the time and/or patience to clear it 99 times, then that's your own fault, sorry. :') Everyone knows that's what this game is really about nowadays - mindless grinding.

Like seriously, who even thinks like that? It's pathetic.

Consider the following:

1. You can't use mounts in 99% of the cities, which is where most people hang out.
2. Sure, you can use mounts in the housing areas, but those are empty most of the time, save for a couple of FC members you might have around.
3. There are a bunch of cooler mounts you can get which require no grinding/farming. The gobwalker from A4S is an example (100% drop rate).
4. Regardless of how cool you think a mount is and how hard you work to get it, chances are you'll end up getting bored of it sooner or later.

Not to mention the Mogstation mounts. I feel bad for people who wasted literally a couple of days of their lives farming for all the birds to get the Phoenix mount, and then spend 24 bucks on a Carbuncle. Really makes me wonder...

Basically, what I'm trying to say is, don't buy into this game's utter garbage mount system. Not only do they make it unnecessarily hard to get some of the mounts, but they're barely worth it considering you only ever use them in the open world (which is empty, let's be honest).

Blue Bird you sound really bitter lol. People like to collect things, work hard to get something rare. Nothing wrong with that. Dont feel bad for people who enjoy the grind. And if you don't enjoy it why the fuck are you doing it in the first place? Its a game.

I spent 2 years after ashes of al'ar (with 4 alts btw) with having nothing to show for it, so I can't really say that drop rate for vanity items are bad on FFXIV
