Also accessible on PS4. Just need to start typing if you have a USB keyboard attached, or click the touchpad(first click will bring up the chat window) and then go about how you would normally start typing.
What day did you try to run it? Because I'm on Aether too and on a Saturday as a DPS my wait was 15 minutes, not 30. Which was about normal for just about every MSQ instance for a DPS (if not actually faster). However when I tried to run it on, say, a Thursday then yeah my queue was more like 45 minutes plus.
And maybe it's just me but I feel like DPS wise even that's really not new. Even before the changes you were waiting at least 20 minutes to queue into anything, especially these two dungeons.
It would be nice if they would at least let you skip it the first time you complete it, but that's never gonna happen.
I haven't run Main Scenario Roulette, nor Castrum or Praetorium, since the change was implemented. Tried queuing Main Scenario Roulette a few times out of curiosity, but withdrew when I saw the 'More than 30m' wait time. :/
I don't see what the big deal is. during longer cutscenes I just do something else. The time flies by. For everyone that absolutely cannot stand it, and probably sit there staring at their monitors it will seem boring and slow.
I said in a similar thread that I don't mind the change, because I do not treat it as some sort of punishment, although it might as well be for all the people being jerks to new players. It's not really a discussion worth having, because whether they change it or revert it back, there is going to be an unhappy group, and I'd rather they focus on smoothing the experience for new players so they have an enjoyable time playing rather than the grizzled vets who act like the world is gonna end because they have to spend at most an extra 15 minutes for CM and 25 for Prae.
Here's a strange concept. If you don't need that dungeon as you already did it for your story, don't, run it. I know, I know, a crazy idea. But think about the possibilities.
Here's an even stranger concept. Perhaps allowing players to skip cutscenes is good for both new and old players? It's good for new players because the don't have to wait as long to move forward in the msq, which is required for progression; and it's good for old players because they can get through it quickly and the rewards are actually worth it.
I'm not sure which way is ultimately better, tbh. I'm just saying that the "skip cutscenes" side does have some legitimate points that you should address before dismissing them as a whole.
Veterans don't need it but isn't that the issue? New players need some help from established players to get these instances to pop in a timely fashion to begin with? You can't progress any further after all.
I just find it counterproductive. It's good intentions poorly executed.
I try to que for it once a week just because I know people wait forever to get a group. I que on my WHM. I also expect it's going to be an hour long event. I just look at it as helping others. It's not bad and I'm not forced to go, but it helps others.
That’s only helpful for new players who see the MSQ as an obstacle to “get through” rather than actually experience it as it happens. I certainly wouldn’t find any benefit to being able to quickly ‘move forward’ past the climax of the story that’s been building up for the past fifty levels. I’m finally there and I want to enjoy it.Here's an even stranger concept. Perhaps allowing players to skip cutscenes is good for both new and old players?
