I refuse to run Castrum the way it is now

I didn't come to this decision because of the unskippable cut scenes.
While I still disagree with SE's solution to players rushing the 8 player MSQ dungeons, I can tolerate them if the rest community wishes to as well.

It's the roulette EXP bonus for Castrum in particular.
While only 15 minutes shorter then Praetorium, the EXP is only around 55-60% of what you earn from the latter.

Combine that with the terribly paced cutscenes(That can potentially be detrimental to the party's survival), and the far greater awareness required (While not especially difficult, wipes can definetly occur unlike in Prae), Castrum is quite dreadful to run.

On a familiar note, almost all of toxic behavior I've witnessed since the MSQ change has occurred in Castrum as opposed to the Praetorium.
It could of course merely be a coincidence, but perhaps I'm not the only who can currently handle Prae; yet hates Castrum?

I do find the 'watch CS, move 3 steps, get another CS' to be really grating on my nerves. I actually watch You Tube or Twitch during those times.

I mainly do that roulette if I need more tomes, so it isn't something I do every day.

I did Praetorium for the first time yesterday since the cutscene change, and it irked me that it took roughly 55 minutes to complete. I definitely do not want to go in again.

Where does the OP say they’re being forced to run content? They’re expressing their concerns about the rewards of running MSQ Roulette, not the actual roulette. That’s a valid complaint, and just as important to bring up as anything else on this forum. Personally, I find the general ineptness to look past one’s own thoughts and opinions and have a broader perspective to be hilarious, so thanks for the laugh .

OP: your reasons are why I have never did the new roulette after the changes. Square can’t pay me to run years old content that’ll take me an hour to complete.

You're right. Veterans who've already done the content aren't forced to keep coming back to do it. But what about new and returning players? If it weren't for roulettes incentivizing veterans to come back and do old content for the umpteenth time those new and returning players would frequently be trapped in Progression Limbo™. It's the primary point of non-Expert Roulettes. One of the only reasons people even bothered with the MSQ roulette is because both dungeons could be cleared exceptionally fast if you skipped the lengthy cutscenes. By forcing cutscenes and bloating clear times, you've effectively removed the main reason 99% of players had to do those dungeons which only winds up hurting the 1% it was meant to help. Oops. We call that well-intentioned idiocy and crippling shortsightedness.

Did it suck for new players who had to choose between watching the cutscenes or doing the fights? Yeah, I guess. But they were still better off for it if the alternative meant being unable to do the dungeon at all.

just so everyone knows the change didn't happen because they had to choose this.

it's because people got kicked for watching them cutscenes at all. it was skip them or get kicked.

the problem is here because SE didn't pick a side and said its up to the party.
