I refuse to run Castrum the way it is now

No one is forced to run the story dungeons, and they have their own roulette.

Incorrect. New players who don't want to do a payment to skip by are forced to. Players that might not give a single care about it. Some will wanna see cut-scenes, yes, but not every new player does. Some new players want to catch up with their friends, while also not paying extra money into the game that they still might not be 100% they'll stick to the end for.

They removed the option of choice because a few customers complained it was a terrible experience. I had to go through it on an alt like that, and if I look at it from a new player perspective, it's STILL a terrible experience. Castum in particular the game might as well play itself with how little you can move before the next cut-scene. I don't think anyone spends $15 to watch a movie.

One time. Out of how many hours that they invest into this game on a particular character?

If you had ANY idea how many hours I've invested just getting all of the lux relics, 2 zetas(over halfway done with book step on a 3rd), 7 anemos, all of the bird mounts, over 200 runs of the newer extremes, not to mention leveling other characters... The 2 hours required for those two dungeons for people now, isnt even a drop in the bucket. In comparison, I spent 14 hours grinding out for my very first clear of o5s the first week it came out. Once you've cleared those dungeons for the story, you never have to go back again if you so wish. You can spend your hundreds or thousands of hours grinding other stuff. One and done.

You still have to do it at least once. You NEVER had to do lux. You NEVER had to do Eureka. You NEVER had to do savage. But I still had to do these dungeons to move forward.

Let's plug in the idea you have though, where once you do it you never look at it again. Okay, so nobody queue for the roulette. Aaand... nobody's getting in. People start complaining they can't get in. New players are stuck because they're waiting all day to try, but they can't get that 1 tank or 1 healer.

WAIT! That sounds familiar. I wonder... was this... back when the roulette didn't exist in the first place? How weird. Almost like the queue was put in for the first time because nobody wanted to run that with skippable cut-scenes.

Castrum I find not that bad in terms of toxicity. The cut scenes are, however, horribly paced. Prae is horrible though, for me. I will run it on alt classes for the XP because it's decent and I can watch an episode of Kitchen Nightmares or do some knitting while the cut scenes play, but the people I'm running into x.x. The run I had the other day was by far the worst. From the moment we loaded in until the moment we finished, almost an hour!, it was literally nonstop complaining about the cut scenes being unskippable and how absolutely horrible it was. Now, I appreciate them running it because there was a new player there, but people! You queued up for something you know has unskippable cutscenes. Why make the experience that much more unpleasant?

I disconnect too often to do such long content. Funny how I don't disconnect from any other online game, just this one. Maybe it's the "east coast ping" I keep reading about. Maybe it's just crap.

Not to derail but this has nothing to do with the game or server directly. It’s just the way your ISP has you routed to the server. You can try to work with your ISP to look for a solution (using ping and traceroute logs) or you can try something like a VPN and hope you get routed through a better path.

This doesn't happen with any other game. Did you not read that part? I'm not going to even bother trying to talk to spectrum. It never has helped me in the past to call them for any reason at all. Hell, I wish I had a choice in ISPs, but I do not where I live. Constantly blaming the ISP is a weak excuse for something SE should be doing themselves. You know, SE talking to our ISPs.. They have far more power to change the problem than I do ffs.

Before going on a rant about what you think SE is obligated to fix you should do yourself a favor and learn a little about the basics of internet routing.

I run this roulette at least once a week. It's a great time passer when I feel like getting tomes/exp and also catching some Anime on Crunchyroll. Though there is the occasional 'sprout majority' run where almost everyone has no idea what they're doing. But those are fun!

No opposition from me at all with how this is ran now, but I do wish the tomb reward was higher.

I enjoyed it the first time with the cutscenes (Eventhough the content was way too easy even if it is old).
After that, it's annoying not being able to skip the CS.

I'll keep running them almost every day, leveling classes on my balmung alt and having a good time socializing with people while doing so. Enjoy being miserable.

The way of the future. Recruit a friend campaign should increase the amount of feathers you get since you also need to convince your friend to buy story skip potions on top of buying and subscribing to the game. Extra feathers for Leveling potions and mobile app purchases too.
