Summoners probably aren't thought that badly of until they get DWT, Demi-Bahamut and Teraflare out. At that point... everyone remembers Cartenau... I can't see people not being concerned about what a Summoner WoL is getting themselves into. At the very least, when they fight they're a giant walking PSTD-trigger for the Alliance Leaders, Grand Companies, a lot of the Scions, basically, everyone who was at Cartenau or Coil. And let's not even get into what the Garleans must think about them...
