I think we should get a reply of our report, if everything is all right with the information, if GM have questions about we write or something or just to confirm it. I think it encourage me to report more of this kind of conduct

Yeah, even outside of just cheating reports, it would be great if customer service policy could be adjusted to give a solid "yes, what you reported is actionable - we will take action." Or at least do what Twitter does and give players an alert for when an account they did report has been banned or something - even if they don't necessarily know it was their report that caused it. I also understand the concept of combating a bigger picture of cheating and the idea of leaving someone there as bait. Not sure it's the approach I'd choose, though. The closest I seem to get nowadays is GMs indicating they empathize with the complaint, understand why I'm bothered by it, etc. But not quite going so far as to say "yes, this is something I'm going to take action on other than filing your ticket away." Mind you, I know the GMs do tons of great work. And of course it would be inappropriate of them to violate a player's privacy by gossiping about unrelated concerns. But when you report something you see yourself, I don't think it's asking too much for them to confirm it's against terms of service, correct you and tell you why it's not against terms of service, etc. Instead, we get a reassurance that it will be reviewed and whatever action is appropriate will be taken. Of course, we don't want the cheaters to know precisely what they can and cannot get away with either. So it's a mess. But I hope it gets better.
A response would be nice, simply because I'm starting to feel like they're just ignoring my reports now after reporting the same blatant bots close to a dozen times with no action taken.
If I don't get a response, I can't know what was wrong with my report, or more importantly why they concluded that the bots weren't doing anything wrong despite having so many red flags raised.

I agree with OP. Some kind of communication or confirmation that something will be done motivates players to keep reporting botters or cheaters instead of turning a blind eye as most do due to the lack of response or action taken. A lot of players and friends I've socialized with generally give up on reporting because they still see the same player cheating, so one could assume that nothing is being done, report being ignored or if the STF team has even seen the report, etc.

Agreed entirely. If we're giving nonactionable reports, I'd like to know that and also know what we can do to make them better.
If certain kinds of information are useful to SE on this, tell us that so we can deliver it. I don't want to make their job more difficult by giving them stuff they can't use and leaving out stuff they can.

You know how many reports they get on a daily basis? prob a metric ton. There's just not enough man power to reply or give a response to every one.
I dont mind if they reply days or hours after my report. They reply Report Harassment, why not Cheating? You know how many reports they get on a daily basis? prob a metric ton. There's just not enough man power to reply or give a response to every one.
It doesn't take more then a minute or two type out a simple response like "We received your report, but concluded the player in question was innocent because *insert reason*." Also, it wouldn't necessarily benefit the botters to know what kind of behavior the GMs look for, as it's simply not possible to create a bot that can emulate a real player's behavior perfectly, particularly when it comes to their movement patterns which are unavoidably rigid and repetitive, coupled with the fact that they tend to remain online and active for inhumanly long periods of time.
If other busy MMOs like WoW can take the time to respond my cheating reports (They'd actually tell me if they decided to ban a bot or not after I reported it and I got some ones that were initially glossed over banned after filing a second report with extra details), I don't see why XIV can't, too, unless their customer service is that woefully understaffed.

Also, if they dont reply, I believe they will receive a lot of useless information, insufficient information and probably occasions where is not exacly a cheat report and people still sending it. Like Kagetokage said, they dont need reply with 5 paragraphs or something, just 2 lines like "We received your report, but concluded the player in question was innocent because *insert reason* is enough. This also will make people do more precise reports
I agree that there should be an option where you can report cheaters and the system will automaticly store where it was sent, on wich server, location, when you saw it happen and just let you add an explenation to that before sending.
Would make reporting cheaters go way faster.
