    Dual Monitor Audio-Video desync

    When playing FFXIV on one monitor (full screen and borderless) and watching twitch/youtube/netflix on the other, the video always desyncs audio and video.

    This issue does not happen with any other game including WoW, CSGO, and many many more.

    Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of why it happens just with FFXIV?

    Edit: for clarification I’ve tried ffxiv in full screen or borderless and the video of twitch YouTube or Netflix will de sync on second monitor while ffxiv is open

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    To clarify, the audio desync comes from whatever you are watching on the second screen (Youtube, Twitch, etc.), and not Final Fantasy XIV, correct?

    What kind of audio set up do you have? Do the monitors have their own speakers or are you using external speakers?

    Has this always been an issue, or is it something that came up recently?

    This has only happened recently, but yes it doesn't happen with FFXIV but with whatever I have open on the second monitor. I am using two monitors into one video card, and a headset for everything.

    Again it doesn't break the game, but makes whatever you do to break up the grind on the second monitor unwatchable. And also doesn't happen with any other game.

    Can you submit a FFXIV system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

    Hello,

    had the same problem over month.
    It was the Windows Game mode, that was enabled for only this game.
    It pauses background apps so they suttering or refresh less often.
    Disable it via Win + G hotkey ingame via the xbox bar

    this was my solution, i dont have the problem anymore.
    so no need for a new thread.

    I had same issue, however changing to display port and making sure my monitor and game matches setting resolved it with no issue. Also make sure your GC can handle it. If your over clocking it some setting can have issues. Best not to have it overclocked too much. So that Tech support can help unless you give them more info, such as monitor, GC, Operating systmem, crash report ect.
