Wow, this didn't take long to devolve.
Some of us really care and hope that, somehow, SE gets the message that we're worried/upset/what-have-you and will take that into account when planning for the future.
YoshiP himself will never fly to Delaware to have a one-on-one session with me about the state of XIV and what I want to see in future updates. But no game is perfect and some of us would like to see SE either take a different direction, or address some long-standing issues, and they don't seem inclined to. My greatest fear is that they will keep doing exactly what they've done so far- the same thing they've done since ARR - and double-down on not trying to shake things up in a big way to keep things from stagnating. Other companies can do it without losing their players, SE can do it too.
That's a totally fair and well thought-out viewpoint. No arguments. I just don't see the statement I quoted anywhere in what the OP was saying. He wasn't saying "You need to be happy no matter what." He was just saying that he is happy and doesn't understand why others aren't.Some of us really care and hope that, somehow, SE gets the message that we're worried/upset/what-have-you and will take that into account when planning for the future.

Bolded emphasis added. He might not have meant to sound flippant or dismissive, but that's what it can come across as. Especially when there's been a lot of furor and worry over upcoming changes that seem out of tune with what people were expecting (Alliance drops going to Greed Only, the app, Eureka, etc.).
To be fair, the fact that Yoshida never speak, whether it's on the liveletter or any interview really, of the unease that the playerbase is expressing right now is especially concerning for me. It actually makes me wonder if he knows there is a problem.
I really hope they won't repeat the same communication mistake from 1.0...
My experience from Warlords of Draenor says that the devs can make fun of the players for quite some time, but there's a point where the playerbase will realise that they can, and will, see somewhere else if the formula become too bland.
Yes, true it sounded dismissive, but as ppl said to Kaivac, maybe going into this kind of threads is not the right thing to doBolded emphasis added. Again, fair enough. I guess if I stretch I can kind of see how someone could interpret it that way, though, again, I personally don't remotely see it in that light. (And for the record, I'm as torqued as everyone else on the 'greed only' thing.)He might not have meant to sound flippant or dismissive, but that's what it can come across as.
