Why isn't there an option to HIDE other Player's names ONLY during battle?

I was playing with my character settings for displaying character's names and noticed they have the option to always show, always hide, show when targeted and only show during battle.
I get why the last one is useful when in a party or alliance for mouse + kb, but i would find the opposite more useful for a couple of reasons.
As a PS4 player with controller, i won't mouse over characters to select them, i'll navigate the party list with the d-pad, which always shows names and health bars.
Second, with more players i get my screen more cluttered. 8 man isn't that bad, 24 man starts to be a mess and eureka can be a pain, it gets to the point where i sometimes miss some monsters telegraphs. I tried always hiding all names but then the world seems empty when i'm in a settlement or city.
It doesn't make the game unplayable, but it would be a nice QoL improvement.

Hmmm there actually is -.;;, you can set it up to show only your party or your own. Just like you can hide the effects of others attacks and magic animations.

I prefer not seeing others names tbh, and it does slightly help frame rate in crowded instances.

You can also chose to only show initials if that helps reduce screen clutter, though I don't really see how it'd cause you to miss monster telegraphs unless it just distracting you, the names don't cover up enemy list, focus target or target bar. I just turn off everyone outside of my party, I think it only shows their healthbars if taking damage

I know there are some alternatives, and is not like the game becomes unplayable or i couldn't enjoy the game as it is. I'm not complaining, but seeing that only show during battle is possible, the opposite would be the ideal option for me, and i was wondering why it wasn't implemented in the first place.

I'd also like an option to hide all names temporarily with a single selection, but then be able to reset their display back to my normal settings with another single selection. So don't change or forget my regular settings, just override them for a while.

Right now it takes going through the whole list hiding one type, and then hiding another type, and another, and so forth, only to later have to go back and reset each one individually.

It probably wasn't implemented because this isn't something most people would ask for.

But I'll hit the like button just because why not. I wouldn't personally use it, but I see no harm if other people want it.

I'd settle for a way to macro the name display settings. There are various other configuration settings that can be done through macro, but it doesn't seem like this is one of them. I'd like to see something like:

    /displayname [category] [setting] [option]

where [category] would be one of: own, companions, pets, party, alliance, friends, others, unengaged, engaged, claimed, unclaimed, NPCs, objects, minions, furniture, gardens, othercompanions, otherpets, pvp, feast

[setting] would indicate which type of setting you're specifying: color, display, type, title, HP, companion, companionHP, pet, petHP

And [option] would indicate what the specified setting should be set to. For instance, the "display" setting could be always, targeted, battle, or never. The "title" setting would be either show or hide. The "HP" setting could be always, below100, or never. The only tricky one would be "color", but that could be done by assigning a number to each of the colors we can select (or better yet, just give us full RGB control, and let us specify it by that).

If we had that, we'd be able to set up one macro for turning off names when we get into an overcrowded situation where they're just in the way, and another for resetting them back to normal once we leave or the crowd dissipates.
