Input lag on controllers

Hi. Since few days I'm getting strange input lags on controller while playing the game. It happens only in FFXIV and it happens on any controller, I tried two PS4 controllers, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, in each of them (all wired, I'm not using bluetooth) the results are the same. Every few minutes I'm getting lag, the buttons (all of them) are registered either too late or not at all. Keyboard and mouse works without issues and Ping is around 20ms.

I'm playing on Steam.

Can you elaborate on the kind of issue you are having?

Please provide:

- Platform (PC, PS4, Mac)
- the nature of the latency (what exactly do your mean by lags on controller)
- Type of connection (wired or wireless)
- Other programs running while the game is playing (if any)
- Everything you have tried to resolve the issue

- PC Steam

- For an example, when I try to browse through market board it doesn't work or will work with a delay if the delay happens I'm losing control over my controller it will keep browsing by itself for few seconds, another example would be character movement itself. I'm moving and when the lag happens I'm locked again and character will keep moving in the direction it was moving for the few seconds and I can't do anything during this time. It happens everywhere in FFXIV regardless of anything. Multiple times every few minutes.

- Wireless and wired, tried both, results are the same.

- Just Steam and regular programs such as anti virus or drivers.

- a) I tried to use different controllers with different usb ports
b) I reseted controller settings
c) I tried to use different internet connection
d) I tested other games (including multiplayer ones) and they work flawlessly
e) The only ''fix'' I found is using keyboard but I would not consider it a fix, just a temporary solution. Game works perfectly with keyboard mode, worth to mention if I will try to use controller in keyboard mode the issue comes back. Nothing I tried either helps or makes it worse

Does this happen consistently (like a rubber banding effect), or does your the issue come up for a moment then go away? It sounds like you are losing control of the controller for a second and then it goes back to normal. Just clarifying.

When did this first start happening?

I would suggest a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game. Make sure you don't have any other programs running in the background while playing.

Also try to recalibrate the controller in the in-game menu (if you have not done so already).
