I agree completely. In fact, I outlined a fairly similar mechanical base in my Dancer concept, which is a tiny bit lower on this page of the forums. Great minds think alike, eh?
The Dancer:
Their pros should be highest DPS from all the healers, and a DPS healing playstyle that will attract DPS players since they will feel similar to a DPS rather than a healer thanks to passive heals from their attacks.
Their cons should be higher risk due to them being in the frontlines and perhaps no barriers and less emergency tools from afar or in contrast more emergency tools and less healing potencies from their basic healer kit. Either scenario should work to balance them.

Precisely. Powerful regens, offense leading into AoE burst healing, a touch of mobility, and wide-reaching raid utility

So you're thinking something along the lines of a healer version of Bard? That has to deal with a lot of positioning to make sure their buffs reach the right portions of the group depending on the dance?

Pretty much, in a way. I have a fully fleshed-out concept in a thread in this subforum. The positionig isn't too terribly rigid, but there still is some, with certain abilities like Two to Tango and Pirouette requiring careful placement to use properly.

I wouldn't mind it being something akin to what happened with Arcanist, have one soul crystal for Healer, and one soul crystal for the DPS role, actually.
