It might also be a question of how long the aether re-absorption takes. Yes, the primal aether is released when the primal dies, but how long does it take for that aether to go back to where it was supposed to be? Days, Months, Decades? If it takes long enough, that might be "good enough" for the Ascians who are only trying to cause a calamity every couple millennia.
For that matter, is that aether released from the primal the "correct" alignment anymore? We've seen aether be a cause rather then an effect before (IE: wind-aspected animals fly/float because they have more wind-aether; they don't have more wind-aether because they can fly). What happens when you keep killing a fire-aspected primal in the same area over and over again? Does the fire aether that made up the primal compound the amount of fire aether in the region when the primal dies?
