As the title of the thread says, if a third fairy is introduced in 5.0 what would you like her to be named? and what skill set would you like her to have? Also what is her purpose as your third fairy tool?

Name: Alvina
Role: Barriers/Redirection of Damage
Ability1: Embrace (Basic Cure)
Ability2: Shrouding Twilight (Erects a magicked barrier on all nearby party members which nullifies damage, stacks with other shield effects.) (Shield potency: 300) (Recast: 60s)
Ability3: Fey Escutcheon (Lowers the damage received by the target by 10%. Uses it on the ally with the highest enmity if on sic.) (Duration: 10s) (Recast: 60s)
Ability4: Fey Aversion (Places a buff on the target that absorbs 30% of the damage received by them, after expiration of the buff, it then applies a damage overtime effect on them that deals the 30% averted damage over the next 10s. Uses it on the ally with the highest enmity if on sic.) (Duration Buff: 10s)(Duration Debuff: 10s) (Recast: 120s)
Purpose: The purpose of this fairy would be to add a third fairy option as a pet, and she would play more akin to the playstyle of the scholar making her the best fairy for protection. Eos would still have the role of the best healer fairy thanks to her healing power increase, and her healing overtime ability, and Selene would be our support fairy; however, I do feel she needs a good buff because she's currently out shined by Eos, and she would be out shined by Alvina.

Name: Aria
Theme: General Group Utility (Basically having a mini Bard in the group, without the added damage, hence the song-themed name)
1: Embrace (Basic heal)
2: Restores 10% of Target other than the controller's MP at the cost of 10% of the Fairy Gauge (Recast Time: 90s)
3: Channeled ability which grants all allies within 10 yalms of the fairy 10% increased recast speed, weaponskill speed, and attack/cast speed. (Cost: 2% of the fairy gauge per second. Recast: 5s)
4: Consumes the entirety of the Fairy Gauge to increase all damage taken by a single target by 15% for 15 seconds. (Recast: 180s)

Now I main SCH, so this might seem like a strange question, but hopefully it helps show a slight issue we might have. Should AST get another Sect? Think about it.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

Not that I'm not intrigued, but what would it do differently that would give it a spot among the other healers, as opposed to just being a filler?
How about not a new fairy but the ability to fuse with our current one? imagine gettin those wings....

I don't think we need another Fairy, however I think Fairies should be overhauled such that one compliments our shields and the other compliments our healing. Through this, double SCH parties would be slightly more feasible as double AST parties are.
I don't see how SCH should be relegated to "off healer" especially now that all 3 tanks have been relatively standardized such that any can MT or OT effectively. That said, why not standardize all 3 healers so any of them can be a Potency Healer or Shield Healer depending on stance (or in SCH's case-Fairy).

AST main here and I don't think we need a new entire sect per se, as our lore is night and day. But we DEF need 'twilight' abilities that allow you access to the other sect in battle. Like how SCH was in FFXI, you were set in either white or black magic, but could use stratagems mid battle to have access to the other sects spells. In an OH SH moment it would come in handy to toss up shields on party, then 'twilight' your next spell and toss up regen on everyone to allow you breathing room to raise anyone if needed or something to that affect.

To answer the actual OP. I'd like
Lux, a boy fairy. Who has basic heal support like the others but is like Puck of lore, a trickster fairy who could enfeeble enemies with slows, occasional paralyze or lowered evasion/acc on enemies, things to trip them up slowing DMG on a tank as opposed to straight healing damage taken.

Getting a new fairy is redundant. Just add to what the existing fairies can already do. Selene especially may as well not exist compared to Eos, so it would be nice to see some buffs there.
And yes, asking for a new fairy is like asking for a new sect. It's not happening.
In both cases, what could, and probably will happen, are the sects/fairy being absolved into one. With slightly weaker effects.
