I actually prefer it this way. Why would you want to stay locked in place for the duration of 2-3 weapon skill animations instead of just 1?

I actually wish they would carry this over to weapon skill > light shot as well. Currently if you use light shot during a weapon skill animation, you have to wait for BOTH animations to finish before you can move again, even though the effects on the target of both actions are finished before the WS animation is done. Such a pain in the ass.
