    Hasnt not much to do with new players. It's most of the time just lazyness by some peoples part -> Somebody else will do it. Still happens at lv70. And some wait for the Tank to scream LB, which isnt a good idea at all. I saw many many many deads because of the last option, bec of some fight 1 shot 1 kill mechs.

    As a melee myself I use it right away at the boss when it's full. But only if the party is good or else you have a wasted LB + wipe.

    Limit Break is not mentioned in any of the in-game tutorials, and the icon for using it is not put on your toolbar by default.
    So many people may not even be aware that it exists, or how to use it unless they do a bit of research - and few people ever do that.

    Even if they do know about LB, they may forget about it in the heat of battle, or may wait for someone else to use it, or for someone to tell them to use it.

    That being said, I do see it used in DF fairly often so it is not like it is completely ignored by everyone.

    Thinking about this I didn't realise how much I think about the limit button in a dungeon. I use it but only ever sparingly. Normally BLM so it's aoe,I used it once on a big pull and got moaned at for wasting the LB. now if I do that it's only ever at the request of the tank or healer.
    As far as boss battles go I'll generally use it on the opening boss if it is full by then, though this isn't always the case.
    On the final boss I'll always wait till t is about 15% hours, if there is Melee in the group I give them an extra 1-2% to see if they do it as I have this feeling melee does more dmg than my aoe? If they don't bite then I activate around 13%.
    Dungeons like bardem or sohm al I just activate at the wing phase no questions asked.
    Sometimes though you just have a good group and you all get into the swing of it and don't even realise you need it. Like a freight train we just plough through everything and before you know it you're on the final boss with it at 6% hp and there is no point, by time the animation and charge is over it'll be dead anyway. I just look a fool haha

    Actually, if there's a caster, or possibly a ranged dps in the party...
    A limit break on a large trash pack will do more overall damage than a melee limit break on a single enemy.

    That's more efficient damage per resource.
    And damage per resource is why dps do aoe rotations after a certain number of enemies.

    For dungeons I LB when the boss is at 14%, if we manage to have two bars. Most of the time in dungeons the ranged DPS will LB through the last set of trash so we can get through quicker. For raids, 8-man and Alliance, I LB at around 10% and only if we have everyone alive. Healer LB 3 is very useful for when things hit the fan.

    Against a big trash pull a caster limit break is basically the best damage output in the game. If you dont know a dungeon(or have a tank that makes erratic pulls) dont worry about it too much, but try to keep an eye out for those times when it can be used effectively. A one bar caster limit is roughly equal to 4-5 flares worth of damage on every mob in the aoe(and limits dont degrade over distance, so its primary target flare x 4-5 damage to everyone). That much damage all at once can shorten a pull significantly, turn a dangerous(wipe?) pull into a snooze, and it feels really good too(i used to love getting the wall in roulettes and blowing up all the mobs from those last 4 groups in that big last super pull at the end). So in other words, dont let that one group moaning at you put you off the idea that your LB can be a useful tool. It totally is.

    It wasn't, you raise a good point, they should perhaps add a tutorial about LBs since I think they drop you about your existence when you enter the first dungeon and that's it

    I have a giant LB button (along with a couple other giant buttons) on my HUD and use it when I know it can and must. It's basically experience you get by doing the content over and over.

    The whole Limit Break concept needs a little attention to be honest. Heck, even a rework with smaller personal Limit Breaks available to everyone would be great.
    It's not advertised enough and I think it could use a more specific Duty Action button instead of being hidden in the General Category. I won't yell at a new player for not going through all the sections in the Action window and overlooking the incredibly generic LB button.

    I can only speak for myself but often when I'm levelling other jobs I just forget to set it on my bar to begin with.

    I like the idea of personal LBs in principle, but in reality I'm afraid it would just be a clusterfuck every time.
