Is limit break not a thing?

Not sure how often this pops up outside of 'Tales from the DF', but legitimate question: in your experiences, is DPS limit breaks not a thing in the Duty Finder? I've been running leveling over the last month while working on WAR, and I've noticed whenever a DPS gets asked to limit break, most of the time, they don't know how. It's been a while since I've done Hall of Novice and ARR MSQ, but was limit burst not a thing that was brought up at all?

Takes up space on the bar, and someone else will do it. Just like Esuna on healers.

With PotD I put the LB and the Auto-attack button on a bar that doesn't change between jobs. For the most part there is no need for the LB in any content, as the bosses are defeated too quickly that nobody remembers about it.

Point. Just generally curious. I usually go in as healer or dps, so wasn't entirely sure how other players experiences were. I wonder if this is a thing too with ps4 users, with not having the space to place an LB... Or if it even comes up at all through the little bit of in game tutorials that are around.

No, we have space for LB on ps4. There are many reasons people don't.

-don't know how, new.
-used to saving it for healer lb, or caster lb in dungeons
-usually doesn't play the job often, so unused to using LB at that time
-doesn't think it's necessary as melee, usually in dungeons (doesn't always speed things up that much)
-may not be useful at all (shinryu in particular, he has so much hp melee LB is less effective)

Ah. So in essence, it's basically a non issue for leveling content? I haven't emphasized it much in my runs, save for the one request on certain bosses (like in Bardams) just to push past the wing phase.

More many reasons. I think caster mb is usually more useful than melee, since it can really speed up a large pull.

Try it. Shin has a really big pool relative to other bosses, that's why he has tails you kill to knock off 400k HP. Other bosses go down fast enough without it. Oh, and I forgot another reason; the LB got the player killed at some point, and he's wary of using it.

If anything a higher HP pool would render the caster and ranged LBs ineffective since they do less ST damage than the melee one. In fact Melee LB is the preferred LB for all content unless a Tank LB is required, or in case of the second boss of Raba the caster one to deal with adds.

I play on PS4 and I keep the LB on my Set 8 bar at all times regardless of what class that I play, it's kind of a necessary thing on the likelihood that I have to use it, and I don't want to be scrambling to get it on my hotbar in the middle of a fight when I'm asked.

It's basically the bar that has my teleport, return, sprint, etc...

i play on PS4 and have the LB button on my hotbar, and i am a tank who basically never uses LB, so space shouldn't be a problem...

in the rare case i play a DD i often simply forget about the LB, because i am absolutely not used to use it. but i try to improve. and also use it between 1st and 2nd boss, but mostly i play melee when i am on DD, so that's not my turn i guess... but i have used melee LB on trashmobs with a lot of life, like the first trashmob after the first boss in the lvl 67 dungeon.

i think because the LB is a shared ressource, people are worried to use it (and i have seen people got called out because the party wanted to save it for the healer or a specific mechanic).

when i see people using the LB then usually at the last 3% of the last boss and until the LB cast is over, the boss is basically already dead, so the LB is wasted. so please use LB at 15-10%, okay? ^.^/
