    [lore] About Nadaam ?

According to the Mongolian tradition (the lore xaela of which is inspired) and as it is said in game, the nadaam takes place quite the years to conclude season warriors who follow the tsagaan sar.

According to what I was able to find, the stagaan sar takes place running to February, for 4 days and the nadaam takes place in July.

For us rôlistes, questions arise, stirring up controversy, and not the slightest:

" Will the nadaam reappear in game? "

If yes, we look forward to seeing / living the event.

If not, we would like to know who should logically gain the nadaam? How to play that rp to remain coherent with the lore? Because some of us imagine bad Hien to continue to worry about steppes with all the work which he has with Doma. Mol is governed by their oracles. Without the stake in the liberation of Doma, should they rather participate again?

Because the in-game Naadam takes place on the Lunar New Year and the game year has never moved, I doubt we'll see another canon Nadaam, but I know that many RP groups establish their own timelines.

The answer to "Will the Nadaam reappear" is most likely: No, not until they confirm that our time is moving forwards - the whole story happens in this sort of timebubble after all that kinda freezes time, until the story needs it to move forward again.

And even then I doubt we'll return to the steps for another Nadaam - why would we? We're not of one of the tribes there after all and mainly particpated for/with/because of Hien, who had lived with the Mol for over a year and earned their trust. (Personally I'd find it also a bit out of place for us to take part again - its not like the Xaela would stand any real chance against us. So why budge in again and ruin their tradition as an outsider?)
So if the Nadaam happens again, I'd expect the tribes to battle that out amongst themself.

Hien also has no say in that regard anymore - the Mol-tribe-leader is the one holding the power (at least ceremonial-wise).

Considering what we've learned about the tribes, its unlikely that any but Oronir or Dothral even stand a real chance - and the Mol probably have no real intrest in particpating (unless we want to assume that winning with our help inspired them now! Or their oracle tells them to - who is to know?).
Since I dont really think we'll see the event return, for all intend and purposes you can just pretend that the status quo as it is now will continue forever or otherwise officially stated. Times doesnt move as its supposed to after all...

The Mol only participated because their gods told them to, and had we and the others not been there, they wouldn't have had a chance, as they're both a small tribe and not very talented as fighters, generally only fighting for self-defense.

I'd imagine they'd probably just back down and let the Oronir and Dotharl go at each other's throats as per usual.

The Naadam really didn't feel like that important of an event when there was only three tribes actually participating in it (At least as far as we could see), though. Gameplay limitations aside, if it really was a big deal, you'd think some of the larger tribes like Adarkim would show an interest in it, though if their khan succession process is as much of a trainwreck as Adkiragh and his brother make it out to be, they might just be too busy fighting each other to care about that.

    What makes you think that?
I mean - what would the purpose of several Nadaams be?

Steppes are huge, and we didn't saw much tribes on this nadaam.

Btw I'm pretty sure that Kharlus and Jhungids have their own nadaam in eastern coast.

If you look at the Race Naming Conventions thread, it feels like there's four distinct areas the Xalea live in; the steppes/grasslands (Azim Steppe), the desert (Nhaama Desert), the mountains (Tail Mountains) and the coastlands (The Arras, the north-eastern coast of Othard probably).

The Kharlus and Jhungids tribes are both coastland tribes and their version of "Nadaam" is very different from what we see in-game. It involves both tribes subjugating all the smaller tribes around them before fighting each other as two huge armies to figure out who is in control of the entire coastlands for the next year. The Steppes version of "Nadaam" appears to be a giant free-for-all with the tribe that holds the "sacred ground" at the end of it winning. The Desert and Mountain tribes probably have their version of it too. The Desert tribe version is probably pretty interesting as the Oronir's opposite tribe, the Kagon (worshipers of Nhaama who think Azim is an enemy) live in it.
